Sales of the Huawei Mate 70 series start tomorrow, but vloggers in China have already been performing tests on the new flagship line. Yesterday, we got a peek at the mysterious Kirin 9020, now let’s get a closer look at another interesting feature of the Mates – high-gloss titanium basalt and ultra-durable nylon, which are the materials used to strengthen the phones. It makes them more drop resistant, as you can see in this test. We’ve clipped only the drop itself showing a Huawei Mate 70 Pro+ falling from 2m/6ft and the immediate aftermath. You can see the full video over on...

It’s the thinnest of the bunch at 7.8mm. Mate 70 (left) and Mate 70 Pro (right) Like most recent Chinese flagships, Mate 70 and 70 Pro are IP69-rated, which brings protection against pressurized water jets. Mate 70 gets a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED with FHD+ resolution...
Huawei is hosting a big event next week with the official launch of the Mate 70 series. We already saw an official image of the Mate 70’s design, and now Huawei chairman Richard Yu decided to share a video that gives us a brief look at the Mate 70 Pro+. The device in the video appears to have a similar design to the Mate 70 from yesterday’s image but with an altered quad camera setup. We can spot a dedicated periscope lens in the top left corner. The phone in the video features the silver colorway seen in previous leaks, and we get another look at the curved sides and...

Huawei is expected to launch its Mate 70 series later this month and it’s only natural that we start seeing more leaks ahead of the big unveiling. The latest one shows out the front design of the Mate 70 Pro/Pro+, which will once again sport three punch holes just like the Mate 60 Pro and Pro+ from last year. This should be the same setup, with one of the cutouts housing the selfie camera and the remaining two being for the 3D ToF system used for secure face unlocks. While housed in a protective shell, the Mate 70 Pro/Pro+ from the image appears to have a flat frame instead of the...
A week ago, a leak showed the camera island design for the upcoming Huawei Mate 70 series. The new models are expected to feature a new Kirin chipset and now we have our first glimpse of it. First glimpse of the HiSilicon Kirin 9100 chip that will be used in the Huawei Mate 70 series Dubbed the Kirin 9100, this chip will be manufactured on a 6nm node (SMIC N+3). That’s a step up from the 7nm Kirin 9000S chips that were used in the Mate 60 series, but still behind the semiconductor nodes that other chipset designers have access to.
