IDC: Huawei dominates the foldable market in China

The foldable market kept growing in China in Q2, reveals IDC in its latest report. The country saw a 104% year-on-year increase, with Huawei dominating the market with 41.7% of all sales, almost twice as much as the second company, which was vivo. The research company attributed Huawei's top position to the Mate X5 and Pocket 2 which come with China-made chipsets and satellite connectivity. Last September, Chinese EV manufacturer Nio launched its first smartphone with the aptly named Nio Phone. That device is getting a successor and we now have a certification that confirms its updated charging speeds. Earlier this year, reports suggested there are three foldable devices in the works: B6, Q6 and Q6a. The first two are the Z Flip6 and Z Fold6. As for “Q6a”, it was variously speculated that it is the Galaxy Z Fold FE, Z Fold Slim or Z Fold Ultra.
