Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets Pro Software & Services | Comments: Off

In today’s fast-paced world of file sharing and data transfer, having a reliable method for moving content between devices is crucial. Various apps are available to meet this need, but EasyShare has emerged as a popular choice for Android users, and it is also compatible with other platforms such as iOS and Windows.

EasyShare offers a user-friendly interface, fast transfer speeds, and support for a wide range of file types. However, some users have reported occasional connectivity issues and the app's interface could be improved for easier navigation. Let’s evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of using EasyShare on Android devices.

The EasyShare solution is available for Android, iOS, and Windows.

Features

One critical advantage of EasyShare is its seamless ability to cross platform boundaries. It lets users easily share files between Android devices and iOS, Windows, and Mac systems. This broad compatibility ensures that data exchange is not restricted by the variety of devices and operating systems in our interconnected world. EasyShare makes it hassle-free whether you send a document from an Android phone to a MacBook or share a video between an iPhone and a Windows PC.

When it comes to sharing large files, EasyShare is a productivity booster. It harnesses the power of Wi-Fi Direct technology to achieve speeds that far surpass traditional Bluetooth transfers. This means that extensive video files or large applications can be transferred in seconds, not minutes, saving you valuable time and ensuring that you can quickly access the shared content.

EasyShare liberates you from needing Wi-Fi or mobile data in places with limited internet access or while traveling. Its offline feature ensures that you can continue sharing files without being hindered by a lack of internet access, adding a layer of freedom to your sharing activities. Whether on a camping trip, at a remote location, or experiencing a spotty internet connection, EasyShare's offline file-sharing capabilities ensure you are not limited by internet availability.

Some free solutions are supported by ads, which can be intrusive and disrupt the user experience. Luckily, EasyShare isn't one of them. You can enjoy uninterrupted file sharing without being bombarded by advertisements, making the entire experience more seamless and user-friendly.

With a user-friendly interface, EasyShare ensures accessibility for both novices and tech-savvy individuals, amplifying its appeal across a broad user base. The intuitive design and straightforward navigation make sharing files a breeze, regardless of the user's level of technical expertise. EasyShare guides you through the process with clarity and ease, from selecting the files to initiating the transfer.

EasyShare allows you to share many files, including documents, pictures, apps, and videos. Its versatility ensures that it can meet the diverse needs of its users, making it a one-stop solution for all their sharing needs. Whether it's a working document, a collection of vacation photos, a popular application, or a high-definition video, EasyShare handles it with efficiency and reliability.

Concerns

File sharing

EasyShare, with its unique features, offers a range of benefits. However, it's crucial also to consider its potential drawbacks.

While EasyShare is designed for broad compatibility, it's not immune to occasional issues. For instance, it might encounter compatibility problems with specific devices or certain versions of operating systems, which could lead to frequent troubleshooting for users.

File-sharing apps like EasyShare, while convenient, can raise security concerns. However, EasyShare has robust data protection measures in place. Despite this, it's important to note that exchanging files across devices always carries inherent risks, particularly when sensitive information is involved.

High-speed file transfers can drain battery life. Heavy use of EasyShare can significantly impact a device's battery, an important consideration for users who rely on their devices throughout the day.

Receiving files without a proper check can quickly clutter a device's storage. EasyShare does not manage this aspect, leaving users to manage their storage space to accommodate new transfers manually.

In addition to the information above, it's important to note that while EasyShare may offer fast file transfers, network conditions can also impact its speed. Users may experience slower transfer speeds and potential disruptions in areas with poor network connectivity.

Furthermore, while EasyShare is designed to be user-friendly, some users may find its interface less intuitive, leading to confusion when navigating the app and its various features. This could lead to user frustration and a steep learning curve for new users.

Lastly, it's worth considering EasyShare's support and updates. Users may encounter challenges if the app's support and updates are not regularly maintained, leaving them with unresolved issues and potential vulnerabilities that could impact their overall file-sharing experience.

Users need to weigh these considerations carefully when deciding whether EasyShare is the right file-sharing solution for their needs.

Final Verdict

EasyShare is a modern file-sharing application that has gained popularity among Android users. Its strength is facilitating fast and straightforward file transfers without an internet connection. This can be highly beneficial, especially when internet access is limited or unreliable.

One of EasyShare's key advantages is its exceptional speed. The app leverages direct Wi-Fi connections to enable rapid file transfer between devices. This means that users can quickly share large files without experiencing the delays often associated with traditional file-sharing methods.

Furthermore, EasyShare embodies simplicity and user-friendliness. Its intuitive interface and easy-to-understand functionality make it accessible to many users. Whether you're a tech-savvy individual or someone less experienced with technology, EasyShare's straightforward approach to file sharing makes the process efficient and uncomplicated.

Despite its advantages, EasyShare isn't without its challenges. Compatibility issues with specific devices and security concerns are potential hurdles that users should take into account. While the app is designed to work seamlessly with a variety of Android devices, compatibility issues may arise, particularly when attempting to share files across different operating systems or older devices.

Regarding security, while EasyShare encrypts file transfers, users should exercise caution when sharing sensitive or confidential information. As with any file-sharing application, there is always a degree of inherent risk, and it's essential to be mindful of the type of content being shared and the potential security implications.

In conclusion, when evaluating EasyShare, it's vital to carefully weigh the benefits and drawbacks to determine if it aligns with your specific needs and preferences. If your priority is convenience, speed, and versatility, EasyShare may be the ideal tool to enhance your digital sharing experience. By considering its pros and cons, you can make an informed decision that suits your expectations and aligns with your usage patterns in the digital realm.

Tawk.to review
12:39 pm |

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets Pro | Comments: Off

When deciding on the best live chat software, or any other solution for that matter, from the best cloud storage to the best CRM, cost will also be a prominent factor. That’s something that stands hugely in Taw.to’s favor.

Tawk.to promises to be free forever and while there you can quibble with this description somewhat, it’s largely true with the concession required to ensure you pay nothing being pretty minor.

There are other reasons to get excited about this live chat program though, aside from the fact it could be yours for nothing. There is a good range of features, integrations are plentiful and its ease of use has received widespread praise.

Tawk.to’s negatives are also pretty minor, such as some sub-par mobile and AI functionality, but even if you are looking for something more advanced here, you can give Tawk.to a while without committing yourself financially. This is a live chat offering well worth your consideration.

Tawk.to Review: Plans and pricing

While many other help desk solutions usually come with three or so set pricing tiers, the cost of using Tawk.to works a little differently. In fact, for many users there won’t be any cost at all. That’s because Tawk.to operates a freemium model, which means that unless users wish to pay for a few premium extras (more on those later), the platform and all its features are available without charge.

Now, before you jump to the conclusion that because Tawk.to is free, it must be extremely limited, there are a significant number of free offerings in the business world that are just as good, if not better, than paid-for options. Just take a look at our lists of the best free VPN, the best free antivirus, or the best free CRM to see the kinds of top-quality free solutions on the market today. Free doesn’t necessarily mean inferior.

And it’s worth drilling down into what Tawk.to actually means when it claims to be free. Of course, there are some caveats. For instance, if you want to remove the tiny “Powered by tawk.to”  branding from the live chat offering, users will have to stump up $29 per month. Similarly, if you want to access Tawk.to’s AI-powered chatbot, that will also set you back  $29 per month.

In addition, businesses that deal with more complex customer enquiries that AI tools may not be quite ready to handle yet (although they are evolving fast) can hire a professionally trained native speaker to act as a human live agent from Tawk.to for $1 an hour. So, there are several ways that Tawk.to generates revenue from its platform. Even so, its free-forever plan can be enjoyed with very few restrictions.

Features

Unsurprising for a tool that claims to boast more users than any other live chat platform in the world, Tawk.to doesn’t scrimp when it comes to features. This is a fully customizable chat widget with localization in over 45 languages - something that multi-national businesses are bound to find especially useful.

Tawk.to also comes with mobile functionality, with apps for both Android and iOS platforms. Long before the present-day ubiquity of hybrid work, customers expected support to be available at all times. That’s why mobile functionality is so prominent with most of the best call centre software solutions. Tawk.to bears this in mind with its platform, allowing your support agents to receive notifications and take part in chats on the go.

Another powerful feature is the inclusion of a built-in Knowledge Base, which can streamline the process for your customers when searching for answers. The Knowledge Base makes it easy for organizations to share their team’s insights - both internally as well as letting you choose what to publish publicly. You can easily format your articles and keep your content organized any way you like. What’s more, Tawk.to lets you can track article feedback so you can better understand what your customers and team need help with.

Altogether, the platform comes with a wide range of features, including a JavaScript API, Geo IP tracking, message filtering, agent alerts, and email notifications. There’s even support for in-chat payments available as a beta feature. This could prove really useful for ecommerce platforms or simply any business that has yet to find a payment gateway that fits the bill.

Integrations

Tawk.to has a large number of integrations on offer, including with your existing CMS software and other popular platforms, including WordPress, WFH apps, such as Zapier, and content delivery network providers like Cloudflare.

The live chat software also has an entire webpage dedicated to its integration with Shopify. This allows businesses to provide their Shopify customers with live chat customer service, as provided by Tawk.to, making it easier to check orders, shipping information and more directly from your Tawk.to messages. Essentially, the integration means that Tawk.to users no longer need to keep two tabs open in order to chat with their Shopify customers. Almost anything businesses can do within their Shopify admin page, can now be found in the sidebar of a Tawk.to chat or ticket.

Another of the integrated tools that Tawk.to dedicates an entire webpage to is Make, a piece of IT automation software that promises to streamline your communication flow by connecting Tawk.to with over 700 apps, including Google Sheets, Slack, and more. Adding a Tawk.to widget to a number of other solutions is also straightforward and there are clear instructions, broken down by app, posted online.

Interface and ease of use

The default Tawk.to interface has rightly received praise from a whole host of users for its ease of use, but making things easier still is the fact changing the appearance of the Tawk.to chat widget is simple.

Of course, changing the appearance of the Tawk.to chat widget could be driven by aesthetic reasons - you might want the colour scheme to match the rest of your branding, for example, but more practical concerns can also come into play. Customizing the look of the widget, for instance, could make it easy for users to identify and use.

The customizability of Tawk.to has been referenced by numerous users as being a real strength of the platform - and it’s easy to see why. The design is unobtrusive, so you don’t need to be concerned about this live chat tool taking customer eyes away from other features on your site. And if you don’t like the design, you can change it by clicking on “administration” at the top of the screen, followed by the “advanced” menu under “widget appearance.”

Support

Tawk.to Help Center

The main port of call, if you are searching for customer support regarding your Tawk.to live chat tool, is the Help Center. Here you’ll find articles on “getting started,” “chat widget cutstomization,” “shopping cart integrations,” “billing” and “advanced features.” The latter is especially important for users who can’t get by just with the more rudimentary tools. If they want to learn how to understand how to create triggers or manage webhooks, this is the place to visit.

There’s also a separate terminal to submit a support ticket, with Tawk.to getting back to you via email. If you’re a developer, on the other hand, you’ll find a dedicated support page just for you. Here, it’s the community that is most likely to provide you with a helping hand. The community forum gives developers the opportunity to submit feedback and inform Tawk.to regarding which features could be added or improved upon.

There’s also a handy “status” section within the help center, which gives you a quick overview of how the live chat tool is performing on your website or app. This is handily broken down by website, dashboard, mobile app, email, integragtionsm and AI assist. If any part of Tawk.to is not operating as it should be, you’ll be able to find out about the issue here.

Security

As with most live chat offerings, Tawk.to takes the security of its users data extremely seriously. There is evidence online of a security researcher by the name of “kaonskillz” discovering a cross-site scripting security vulnerability affecting the tawk.to website and its users but this was from a few years ago now. The fact that such a flaw was found is somewhat disconcerting, but the fact it was identified through an open bug bounty program, rather than making headlines as part of a huge breach, is reassuring.

Also reassuring is the fact that encryption is used for all of Tawk.to’s data. The encryption key is held by Google and data is encrypted at rest and in transit, so you can be pretty sure that Tawk.to aren’t making money off your data. The data is only accessible to authorized staff members for clearly defined reasons related to service provision.

The competition

Tawk.to is far from the only live chat service in town. Other leading players include LiveChat, HubSpot, and Tidio. The main area where Tawk.to stands out from its competitors, however, is that not many offer quite so generous a free-forever plan.

There are reasons to go with other platforms, of course, especially in terms of Tawk.to’s mobile compatibility and AI functionality. Other solutions perform better here so if these are priorities for you, it’s worth selecting a different live chat tool - if your budget allows.

Tawk.to review: Final verdict

Cost isn’t everything but it’s hard to get away from the fact that Tawk.to is free forever. Yes, there are some caveats, but they are mostly pretty minor so if you can accept your live chat software having Tawk.to branding there’s no need to ever spend a penny on this functionality. Plus, cost aside, this offers great functionality, alongside integrations with many of the tools that make up a modern digital business environment.

TeamGroup PD20M Mag portable SSD review

TeamGroup PD20M Mag: 30-second review

The TeamGroup PD20M Mag is one of a number of expansion storage devices that have recently been released; however, this is one of the only ones that takes full advantage of the compact nature of SSD and MagSafe technology. The drive is designed to be mounted onto the back of a smartphone, and an internal magnet is used to hold it in position. Then, a USB Type-C cable can be used to connect the phone to the drive; it really couldn't be more simple.

While the drive does add a small amount of additional bulk to the phone, it isn't huge. The neat mount design retains the phone's streamlined look and feel, avoiding the need to attach the drive through Velcro or other means.

The drive performs extremely well in use, enabling the recording of ProRes video on an iPhone 15 Pro while vastly expanding the available storage.

Having reviewed many of the best portable SSDs, we were suitably impressed with this offering from TeamGroup. In our tests, the drive proved impressively quick, achieving test scores close to the 2000MB/s transfer speeds quoted by the manufacturer.

TeamGroup PD20M Mag: Pricing & availability

  • How much does it cost? $199.99
  • When is it available? Now
  • Where can you get it? It is available for sale in the US, UK and Australia

The TeamGroup PD20M Mag is available now, starting at $129.99 for the 1TB model and $199.99 for the 2TB model. You can purchase it directly from the official TeamGroup website by clicking here, or authorized retailers.

TeamGroup PD20M Mag: Specs

TeamGroup PD20M Mag: Build & handling

This portable SSD is compact and stylish. The sleek, robust aluminum alloy enclosure protects the internal SSD and aids with heat dissipation when in use. The drive is only available in a titanium gray finish, reflecting the Apple line of products and giving it the same premium look and feel despite its small size and weight.

When it comes to those all-important dimensions, at 70mm x 62mm x 8.2mm and weighing 58g, the PD20M Mag is one of the smallest and most portable drives of its type, ideally designed to be mounted onto your mobile.

To help maximize data transfer speeds, the drive makes the most of USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C technology with a port that enables direct connection to any USB Type-C smartphone port or computer.

  • Design 5/5

TeamGroup PD20M Mag: Features

The focus of this compact portable SSD is to be used with your mobile phone to expand its storage for media, as well as enable you to record high-quality video footage directly to the drive. On devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro, an external SSD is required to record ProRes footage since native recording onto internal storage isn't possible.

As such, the PD20M Mag is designed to offer the high performance required by demanding data types and sizes and the durability to be used on a mobile device.

When it comes to transfer speeds, it offers read and write speeds of up to 2000MB/s, enabled by NVMe technology and the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface.

The aluminium alloy enclosure has several functions for the drive. Firstly, it's sleek and MagSafe-compatible, meaning that when it comes into contact with the MagSafe area on the back of the phone, it sticks, holding itself in place with no need for fixings. Then, the connection cable can be attached. The sleek design also makes it slim to the body of the phone, and while it does add bulk, it's still comfortable to hold and actually holds securely in place.

As the drive is designed to be plug-and-play, in apps that support external storage, it instantly appears as a destination or can be selected as one from the mobile device's OS interface.

While the drive is designed for use with mobile technology, it's equally at home with laptops and other drive-enabled devices. Again, the small size and weight, along with the fast transfer speeds, offer all the features you could want from a small portable SSD.

  • Features: 4.5/5

TeamGroup PD20M Mag: Performance

In performance tests, we started by using the PD20M Mag connected to an iPhone 15 Pro. As usual, it takes a few seconds for the camera app to recognize the drive and then give you access to the option to switch on the ProRes file format. Once selected, the screen colours dull, and contrast reduces, showing that the phone is now primed and ready to film in the Pro format. While the onscreen visuals of this Pro format may look worse than the out-of-the-box options for colour and contrast, when it comes to editing, the greater dynamic range and colour profiles will give you far more scope to edit and colour grade in production.

The ability to connect the drive is straightforward, and both Apple and Android phones enable easy connection. The MagSafe on the iPhone holds the drive neatly and with strength. In use, handling the phone with the drive attached did add a little bulk, but more was needed to make the phone uncomfortable to use or difficult to handle. Likewise, the lightweight, sleek design means that little weight is added to the phone, and it's easy to mount on a DJI OSMO Mobile 6 with no issues.

Connected to the phone and used to boost the storage for filming and photography, the drive works faultlessly, and the design with the MagSafe hold to the phone makes this by far the best design out there at present.

Away from being used as expansion storage for mobiles, the small drive also works well as a standard portable SSD. Again, the small size enables it to be easily mounted to the back of a laptop monitor, although some form of MagSafe mount will need to be attached first. Although small, the speed of the drive is impressive and can be used to edit footage shot on the iPhone; the drive can be used for both storage and editing of the footage with speed to keep up with the demands of the editing process.

In the benchmark tests carried out utilizing the USB Type-C port on an Intel Ghost Canyon, the drive put in an excellent performance, with CrystalDiskMark showing impressive read and write speeds of 2025MB/s and 1774MB/s. AJA System, AS SSD, and ATTO tests showed slightly slower speeds, albeit still impressively fast, showing that it's suitable for video editing and other intensive tasks.

One thing to note with the drive is that the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, while fast, does require a compatible port. For PC users, the port is common, but just make sure that you have the Gen 2x2 and not just the Gen 2; otherwise, the speed will be limited. Likewise, for all Mac users with Thunderbolt 4, while the port is compatible, it also limits the transfer rate speed of USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 devices so that those top speeds won't be possible.

However, any way you look at the drive, for use as a way to expand your phone's storage, this SSD offers a huge amount of capacity and is one of the best designs for this style of drive available. What's more, at the price, it isn't too expensive and will offer you greater versatility with your phone, making it a worthwhile investment.

  • Performance: 4.5/5

TeamGroup PD20M

Should I buy the TeamGroup PD20M Mag?

The TeamGroup PD20M Mag portable SSD is an excellent choice if you wish to use your mobile for filming high-quality videos. The ability to quickly add plug-and-play 2TB of additional storage is a huge boost to your mobile's capabilities. Not only does it vastly expand your phone's capabilities, but the sleek MagSafe design makes it easy to mount and use.

There are the usual issues with transfer speeds around the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port when it comes to Mac systems, but most PC users will benefit from the lightning-fast speeds. Even if the performance is downgraded on a Mac, those transfer speeds are still impressive and more than enough to keep up with the demands of most users, be that just for storage or for more advanced functions such as use with the camera apps.

Overall, an excellent portable SSD that is as useful connected to a mobile phone as it is to a computer, with the quality of data transfer and physical design to ensure that it's a worthwhile investment.

6:45 pm | June 18, 2024

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets Pro Software & Services | Comments: Off

As our world increasingly relies on digital tools, the need for seamless and secure file sharing has never been greater. Whether sharing cherished memories with loved ones or collaborating on crucial projects at work, the choice of file transfer tools can make a difference. Enter Send Anywhere is an innovative file transfer solution that has been making waves with its unique approach to this common challenge.

In this post, we’ll examine Send Anywhere's unique features and operation in depth and carefully weigh its strengths and weaknesses. Get ready to dive into the world of seamless file sharing!

You can learn more about Send Anywhere from the official website. It's available for Android and iOS

Features

Send Anywhere is a file transfer service that enables users to send files directly to each other without needing cloud storage. Unlike traditional file-sharing services that need user registration and file uploads to a server, Send Anywhere allows for direct, peer-to-peer data transmission using a one-time, six-digit code or a link. This system aims to simplify the sharing process while prioritizing security and privacy.

Among the features:

Direct transfer: Files are sent directly between devices without being stored on any intermediary servers, reducing the risk of interception or unauthorized access.

Ease of use: The transfer process is simple, requiring a one-time code shared by the sender with the recipient to start the transfer.

Multi-platform support: Send Anywhere is available on various platforms, such as iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac, enabling seamless file sharing across different devices.

No file size limit: Unlike many other services, Send Anywhere does not impose file size limits, which is a significant advantage for sharing large videos or data files.

Secure transfer: Files are encrypted during the transfer, ensuring that your data remains secure from cyber threats.

Why use Send Anywhere?

Send Anywhere has several advantages that set it apart from similar services. By avoiding the cloud, Send Anywhere ensures the privacy of your files. This means you don’t have to worry about data retention on servers, which improves security. Direct transfers also mean faster delivery, as files don’t need to be uploaded and downloaded from a server.

Moreover, users can transfer files without signing up or providing personal information, which is excellent for privacy-conscious individuals. Lastly, the ability to send files through various methods, such as a link, email, or a one-time code, provides flexibility based on the user’s preferences and needs.

Some people might find a few drawbacks to Send Anything. First, it requires a stable and reasonably fast internet connection for a smooth transfer, which can be limited in areas with poor connectivity.

Although Send Anywhere provides a basic service for free, some advanced features, such as increased file transfer limits and permanent links, are not free.

The absence of cloud storage is both a benefit and a limitation. While it enhances security, no backup is available if the transfer fails or files must be resent or accessed.

Finally, some users have reported that the interface, particularly on mobile versions, can be confusing or cluttered, which might discourage less tech-savvy individuals.

Pricing

Send Anywhere pricing June 2024

Send Anywhere provides a free version with basic functionality suitable for casual use. It offers two additional versions, Lite and Standard, for more advanced needs.

The Lite version costs $5.99 monthly and allows you to download up to 200GB of content. It provides faster subscriber-only servers, the ability to email large files, link management, and customization of the download page.

The Standard version, priced at $9.99 per month, increases the download limit to 500GB and offers further customization of the download page.

Discounts are available when purchasing either of these packages yearly, not monthly.

Final Verdict

Send Anywhere stands out in the crowded field of file transfer services by offering a secure, direct, and user-friendly solution. Its emphasis on privacy and security makes it especially appealing in an era where data breaches are a constant threat. However, potential users should consider the absence of cloud storage and the limited free version features before fully committing to it. For those looking for a straightforward, reliable means to share large files quickly, Send Anywhere is undoubtedly worth considering.

In summary, while the service has its limitations, its benefits make it a strong contender for anyone’s file-sharing toolkit, particularly if security and privacy are top priorities.

Discovering SHAREit: A comprehensive review
6:04 pm |

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets Pro Software & Services | Comments: Off

Sharing files between devices is a common need for many individuals. Whether it’s photos, videos, music, or documents, transferring files quickly without cables or a data connection is invaluable. SHAREit is a powerful app designed to make file sharing effortless and efficient across various platforms.

In this post, you will learn more about what SHAREit offers, its advantages and disadvantages, and who benefits most from its features.

The SHAREIt app is available for Android and iOS. You can also use it on Windows and macOS.

Features

In today's era of instant communication and digital transformation, there is a growing need for a reliable, high-speed file transfer tool. SHAREit is an app that has redefined file-sharing standards by offering a variety of impressive features designed to meet the demands of fast and efficient digital exchange.

Here are the key features that contribute to its popularity and functionality:

Cross-platform compatibility: SHAREit breaks down the barriers between different operating systems. With Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS support, users can transfer files across various devices without worrying about compatibility.

Transfer large files with lightning speed: Speed is one of SHAREit's most crucial aspects. Users can transmit large files up to 200 times faster than Bluetooth, reaching up to 20M/s, which is invaluable for extensive files such as HD movies or comprehensive project documents.

Transfer all file types: Whether it's photos, videos, music, installed apps, or any other file, SHAREit can handle it. It's not just the variety of files that's impressive; there's no size limit, making the transfer of substantial data packets hassle-free.

No internet required: SHAREiit operates independently of an internet connection by utilizing Wi-Fi Direct for file transfers. This saves on data usage and means that files can be shared anywhere, anytime.

CLONEit feature: With the CLONEit feature, users can clone a device and send all its content to another device. This is especially helpful when changing phones, as it streamlines the process of transferring contacts, SMS messages, MMS messages, music, videos, apps, and other data from an old device to a new one.

Group sharing: With SHAREit, one can share files with friends simultaneously. By connecting multiple devices to a single sending device, files can be transferred to the entire group simultaneously, saving time and maintaining consistency in shared information.

Video player: Integrated into the app is a media player that allows users to play videos in HD and select from various video formats, making it a multi-functional tool beyond mere file transfers.

Music and content discovery: SHAREit is not just about sharing; it's also a portal to a world of content. Users can listen to music, watch endless videos, and even discover trending content updated regularly within the app interface.

Secure transfers: The software ensures secure transfers with privacy protection. Files are saved directly onto the recipient's device without leaving traces in the cloud, preventing any chance of data leakage.

Easy to use interface: SHAREit sports an intuitive, user-friendly interface that simplifies sharing. Easy connections via QR codes and a straightforward layout ensure that even the least tech-savvy users can share files without a steep learning curve.

Why use SHAREIt?

Clocks

(Image credit: Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay)

There are many great things about SHAREit. My favorite features are the ones that you're less likely to find in similar solutions. It all starts with its robust file management system that goes beyond basic transfers. SHAREit also has powerful file management functionality. Users can view, move, or delete files directly within the app, which helps manage device storage efficiently and effectively.

Whether you're sharing a simple JPEG image, a large software file, or a high-definition video, SHAREit can handle it. File size is not limited, giving SHAREit a significant edge over email or instant messaging tools that commonly have restrictions.

SHAREit enhances group interactions by allowing multiple people to connect and receive files simultaneously. This feature is perfect for meetings, social gatherings, or when distributing files to a team, ensuring everyone gets the data promptly and uniformly.

SHAREit is not just about utility; it's also about entertainment. The app integrates a media player for music and videos and provides access to a vast selection of online content for streaming directly within the app. This makes it a versatile multimedia tool that goes beyond mere file sharing.

Finally, all of these features come at no cost. SHAREit is free to download and use, providing an accessible solution for everyone.

Some individuals may have reservations about SHAREit despite its positive attributes.

In February 2021, Trend Micro, a global leader in cybersecurity, discovered several vulnerabilities in the SHAREit app that hackers could exploit to carry out malicious activities, including executing arbitrary code and leaking sensitive user data. Although the app's developers have addressed these issues, the situation highlighted potential risks associated with using the platform.

Questions regarding how SHAREit handles user data arise, as with any app that requires access to files and media on a device. The app's permission requirements are extensive, and there have been concerns about how SHAREit manages this data, especially concerning user privacy.

One of the most frequent complaints among SHAREit users is the excessive number of ads displayed within the app. While the app is free to use and relies on an ad-supported model to generate revenue, users often find the quantity and intrusiveness of ads to be excessive, detracting from the user experience.

SHAREit has been criticized for bundling additional features and content, such as games and other apps, that not all users find helpful. This clutters the user interface and can lead to unnecessary data consumption and storage space usage.

Users have reported unreliable connections and transfer failures, especially when sharing files over longer distances or between different platforms. Such technical glitches can hinder the smooth functionality that SHAREit promises.

Final Verdict

SHAREit is known for its speed, versatility, and wide range of features that exceed basic file transfer requirements. Whether you need to send a single photo to a friend nearby or share important documents across different platforms, SHAREit simplifies the process, saving time and boosting productivity. In addition to its file transfer capabilities, SHAREit functions as a compact entertainment hub, making it valuable and essential in today's digital toolkit.

And yet, you should also be aware of the concerns that previous customers have commented on, including the inclusion of advertising, sometimes unreliable connections, past security issues, and more.

The Orico Mecha 2TB portable SSD is a portable hard drive designed to withstand conditions that would cause most other portable SSDs to fail. The drive's overall aesthetic reflects its robust nature, and its triple defence shield ensures that it's waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof, all helping to protect Yata even in harsh environments.

We've tested out the best portable SSDs and the best rugged hard drives, so we were keen to get our hands on the Orico Mecha to find out what it offers. Performance-wise, the SSD supports speeds up to 20Gbps, with read speeds up to 2050MB/s and write speeds up to 1800MB/s. This makes it suitable for transferring large files, such as video and image files quickly, and can be used as a working drive to both store and edit creative work. As well as the tough outer casing the internals feature advanced electronics with a high-performance SSD chip that features temperature lock technology that will prevent the drive from overheating, and sure enough through the test for short on-site edits of 4K video from the Canon EOS R5 C the drive handle the footage and edit with ease.

Compatibility is worth mentioning with the drive supporting USB 3.2 Gen2x2 protocol, which instantly makes it compatible with various devices, including laptops, desktops, and smartphones. In the box is a 2-in-1 data cable (C to C/A) maximising the options for connection. One issue to note is that if your computer is USB 3.2 Gen 1 or uses Thunderbolt 3 or 4, then the maximum transfer rates will be reduced to that of USB 3.2 Gen 1 which is around 1000MB/s.

While the price is relatively high for a 2TB drive, the fact that it's quite so robust and, with the right connection, offers outstanding speeds, this is a great option, especially for creative professionals such as photographers and videographers.

Orico Mecha 2TB portable SSD: Design & build

ORICO Mecha Portable SSD 2TB

Orico's SSD features a decidedly outdoorsy and robust design, which reflects its intended use as a portable SSD that can be used in tough environments. The exterior of the drive features a high-strength alloy and silicone shell that you can feel with, providing excellent protection against being dropped, sudden shocks and being bashed around in a kit bag. What's more, with the USB Type-C cable removed, there's a silicon plug that protects the port making the drive completely water-resistant. While Orico states that the drive is waterproof, there is no IP rating for the drive, so although it is well made and seemingly sealed, it's worth taking care over water ingress.

However, the design is robust, and with the hanging loop, the drive can easily be tethered to the inside of a backpack so it can be located when needed. To connect to a computer, a USB cable with a C to adapter is included. This can be swapped and changed, but it is of high quality and will help to maximise those transfer speeds with the right equipment.

Overall, the materials used in the construction are all of high quality, and while it may not have any official ratings for water or dust ingress, the drive feels reassuringly durable.

Orico Mecha 2TB portable SSD: Features

This SSD is aimed at professionals working in the field, and in environments that would test most portable SSDs to the point of destruction. Taking a look at the features, it's possible to see just how robust this drive appears to be and raises a high standard for real-world tests. Firstly, the outer shell, made from alloy and silicon, is well-made and finished and feels incredibly durable. There's nothing lightweight or flimsy about the build, and unlike some other metal enclosures, this drive feels solid with no flex.

The alloy case will inevitably aid with the cooling of the drive when put under load editing video and images, but to ensure that the drive doesn't overheat and burn out it features a high-performance chip with temperature lock technology

In order to reach impressive transfer speeds, a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 connection is utilised, which has wide compatibility with various devices. It's worth checking to see if your hardware has this exact configuration, which is mainstream. However, Mac users, along with some high end laptops, may find that the performance will be throttled due to the backward compatibility of thunderbolt ports to USB 3.2 Gen2x1 rather than USB 3.2 Gen2x2.

Benchmarks

CrystalDiskMark, read: 2068.62MB/s Write: 1836MB/s
AJA: read: 1849MB/s Write: 1665MB/s
ATTO: read: 1930MB/s Write: 1740MB/s
AS SSD: 1898.15MB/s Write: 1654.79MB/s

The stated performance is impressive with the quoted speeds highlighting rates of up to 20Gbps. However, tested on a MacBook Pro 16-inch M1 (still one of the best MacBook Pro laptops for our money), those transfer rates looked more like read 989MB/s and Write 919MB/s; this is due to the downgrade in performance for the Gen2x2 connection going through the Thunderbolt 4 ports. However, switching over to one of the best mini PCs - the Intel NUC 9 Ghost Canyon with a PCIe USB 3.2 Gen2x2 card - performance rates were far more impressive.

In continuous test, the drive was put under strain for several hours in an environment of around 20ºC. The drive continued to perform extremely well, with the transfer speeds keeping up the pace with little overall effect on the performance.

Switching the testing from the studio to the field, the drive was first used as a backup drive for images and video during a day's shoot. Due to the Thunderbolt to USB 3.2 Gen2x2 downgrade, transfer speeds were slightly slower than expected. However, at nearly 1000MB/s, those speeds were still impressive, enabling 200GB of data to transfer from an OWC CFExpress card in 5 minutes and 37 seconds.

Doing the same on the Intel NUC 9 Ghost Canyon sees a leap in performance, although, in the field, the computers are connected to a Bluetti AC180 with a compact monitor to monitor the download speeds. Here again, with the Thunderbolt 3 connection for the OWC CFExpress to the ORICO Mecha Portable SSD 2TB, the transfer rate is more impressive at 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Switching the drive's use from storage to editing in Final Cut Pro X on the Mac and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve on the Intel NUC 9, the drive is able to keep up with the demands at an impressive rate. Despite being used as a working drive, the enclosure stays impressively cool, and intermittently checking the transfer rates with AJA System Test Lite shows little, if any, drop in performance.

With the transfer test completed, it was time to put the drive through a few additional tests, including being dropped from a height and sprayed with water. In both tests, the drive, although cosmetically affected with some slight wear and tear, continued to work well. Overall, it was an impressive all-around performance.

  • Performance: 4/5

Should I buy the Orico Mecha 2TB portable SSD?

The Orico Mecha SSD is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a durable, high-performance storage solution that can be used for storage or as a portable working drive. The rugged build quality with the strong alloy to protect the delicate electronics surrounded by the silicon provides an impressive amount of protection, and throughout the test, the high-speed capabilities impressed and proved that this is a great drive for a variety of environments and uses, from the office to the great outdoors.

Looking at a few points about the drive that are worth considering, while the drive is impressively robust it doesn't have any official certification or rating so some care will need to be taken when using it in adverse conditions, then there's the USB 3.2 Gen2x2 issue, especially for Mac users, although you'll have a fast drive it will be about half of its overall potential. Still, although the price might be a consideration, the SSD's performance and durability do justify the investment.

Creality Ender-3 V3 3D printer review
4:03 pm |

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets Pro | Comments: Off

The Creality Ender-3 series is one of the most best 3D printer models. While the early releases were basic, the latest iterations have forged a new and affordable direction, becoming synonymous with quality. While the fully enclosed K1 series offers a more professional design and application that makes them ideal for education and business, the Ender-3 series has remained firmly aimed at enthusiasts and beginners.

However, that entry-level status is independent of the high print quality we've seen from the latest Ender-3 printers, such as the Creality Ender-3 SE (see our review here) and Ender-3 KE (reviewed here). While those two entry machines offer a balance of print quality and price, the build quality, while good and functional, is plastic. The Ender-3 V3 looks to take that build quality up a notch with a full die-cast frame, a touch screen that follows the same design principles and function as the K1 series, as well as CORE XY kinematics that sees print speeds of up to 600mm/s.

As a machine from the entry-level product line, the Ender-3 V3 is at the top of the range. Its refined design and build, features, and print quality are on par with those of Creality and many competitors' more expensive offerings.

In real terms, the Ender-3 V3 is as refined as you get at present, with the speed and reliability that only other machines at this price come close to the BambuLab A1, AnkerMake M5C, and AnyCubic Kobra 3. It's a huge step forward for this iconic 3D printer. With some accessories such as the AI Camera and dryer already available, it's just the announcement of a multifilament option that currently holds back this machine's full potential.

Creality Ender-3 V3: Design

The original Ender-3 machine was an affordable option for early adopters of 3D printing who wanted decent print quality. The surprising thing is that this machine was only released in 2018, and since then, the speed at which Creality and the industry have moved is startling. The Ender-3 machine of that time compared to the Ender-3 V3 of today is stark. From a distance, the two may display a passing similarity, but only in that they're both bed slingers. While the original machine was built cheaply and very much DIY in its approach and style, the latest machine, while still affordable, is far more refined.

Creality Ender-3 V3

In fact, the all-metal bed slinger design is one of a new breed of high-quality 3D printers that break away from the traditional build-it-yourself model of design to something far more solidly built and consumer-ready. Everything from the touch screen to the belts and bearings of this new machine is of a high-quality design. The only thing hinting that this is an Ender-3 is the logo.

Creality Ender-3 V3: Features

Creality Ender-3 V3

The Ender-3 V3 is a huge upgrade from the rest of the Ender-3 range with improved design, mechanics, and, ultimately, performance. The all-new die-cast frame provides a sturdy structure that helps ensure stability during high-speed printing and instantly gives the printer a far more premium feel. When it comes to the actual mechanics of the printer, while it retains the Bedslinger design, it now features Core XY kinematics, which is a significant upgrade that helps boost the precision and speed of movement, reaching up to 600 mm/s. This heavier-weight design also reduces vibrations, resulting in smoother and more accurate prints.

The touchscreen interface is directly comparable to the ones used on the K1 series printers and is incredibly user-friendly, offering intuitive controls and easy navigation through various settings and options.

Specs

Print Technology: FDM
Build Area: 220 x 220 x 250 mm
Minimum Layer Resolution: 0.1 mm
Maximum Layer Resolution: 0.4 mm
Dimensions: 487 x 453 x 622 mm
Weight: 7.8 kg
Bed: Heated
Print Surface: Removable magnetic build plate
Software: Creality Slicer, Cura, Repetier-Host, Simplify3D
Materials: PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU
Print Speed: Up to 600 mm/s

The Creality Ender-3 V3 incorporates an all-metal hot end designed for high temperatures and supports materials like PLA, ABS, PETG, and TPU. It heats rapidly, reaching up to 300°C in around a minute, ensuring consistent temperatures for long prints and the ability to adapt to the different flows of material. The improved nozzle design also allows for precise extrusion, while the dual-fan cooling system prevents clogging and enhances print quality. A new heat break helps to reduce heat creep, maintaining stable temperature control. This hot end is also modular, meaning the assembly is easy to upgrade and maintain.

As is now standard across almost all printers, the magnetic build plate generally makes model removal easy and reduces the risk of damaging prints. The heated bed supports a variety of materials, including PLA, ABS, PETG, and TPU, expanding the versatility of the printer.

In terms of software, the Ender-3 V3 is compatible with Creality Slicer, Cura, Repetier-Host, and Simplify3D, giving you plenty of options for slicing and preparing models.

Creality Ender-3 V3: Performance

Creality Ender-3 V3

The initial build of the Creality Ender-3 V3 takes between 10 and 15 minutes, from unboxing to switching on and loading the first reel of filament. The design is refined, with the die-cast frame offering one of the highest quality and consumer-friendly designs yet, only matched by the BambuLabs A1 and AnyCubic Kobra 3.

On startup, the large screen springs to life, and the machine runs through the usual checks. The levelling process is now hands-off, as the machine is more than capable of self-checking and prepping itself for the first print. This check takes a while, so allow around 15 minutes for the process to run its course.

Once complete, the test models can be printed. It's nice to see that Creality has included a good selection on the USB stick to get you started. These not only enable you to start printing immediately but also allow you to do a quick check of the machine to ensure everything is in place and prints are produced accurately.

Initial impressions of the prints are excellent. The speed is good, with fast acceleration, and the surface quality of those prints looks great. It's important to state that when running these newer machines, filament quality is paramount. Firstly, you need to use the correct high-speed filament to ensure the smooth flow of material, and secondly, a new reel or correctly stored and dried reel is now more important than ever. Creality actually supplied the Creality Space Pi Filament Dryer with the machine, along with a host of materials, and the difference in quality between dried and non-dried filament is stark.

Creality Ender-3 V3

Moving away from the Creality-supplied test prints to a few of our test models, loading into the Creality Print software, which is based on Cura, and sending the prints wirelessly to the machine was all easy. The only element that needs to be added is a standard camera to monitor the print. However, alongside the dry box, the Nebula Camera is another optional accessory. With the announcement of the K2 later in the year, a multifilament option for the V3 can't be that far away.

After checking over the prints from the machine, I noticed that the overall quality is impressive, with the surface smoothly finished and fine detail well presented. While the detail still can't quite match that of the resin printers, if you're looking at printing tabletop gaming characters, it is pretty close.

  • Performance: 4.5 / 5

Creality Ender-3 V3: Final verdict

Creality Ender-3 V3

The Creality Ender-3 V3 is a significant upgrade over its predecessors. It combines a sturdy die-cast frame with advanced Core XY kinematics to deliver excellent speed and print quality. The user-friendly touchscreen interface, similar to the one on the K1 machines, and the versatile build plate make it a great option for both beginners and experienced users.

While the single filament limitation and space requirements of the bedslinger design might be drawbacks, the overall performance and value of the Ender-3 V3 are impressive. At its price point, it competes strongly with more expensive models, offering a blend of quality and affordability that is hard to beat.

Should You Buy the Creality Ender-3 V3?

The Creality Ender-3 V3 is a machine that has evolved from one of the most iconic models on the market. It comes at a time when 3D printer manufacturers across the board are raising the bar in terms of speed, quality, and features.

Essentially, the Ender-3 V3 has almost everything you could want from an enthusiast machine; it's fast, relatively accurate and, most importantly, easy to use. It also looks solid, and the workflow with the superb touchscreen interface makes this an ideal option for beginners as well as intermediate users. While the other newer Ender-3 machines are good, the V3 takes the quality up a level, and considering the price, it's a good place to start or to upgrade from older machines.

If you're looking for a machine for the workplace or education, then it's better to look at the K1 C, not for the quality of output but for the all-enclosed design of the machine.

This feature comes in handy for sharing media during gatherings or distributing information in settings, demonstrating Xender’s versatility beyond individual file transfers.

Why use Xender?

There are numerous reasons to use Xender, far outweighing any reasons not to.

First, Xender works across different platforms, allowing seamless file transfer between Android, iOS, Windows PC, and Mac. This flexibility eliminates the hassle of compatibility issues that plague many other file-sharing methods.

One of the most significant advantages of Xender is its independence from internet connectivity. The app uses Wi-Fi Direct technology to create a private network between devices, facilitating transfers without consuming data.

Xender also boasts exceptionally high transfer speeds compared to traditional Bluetooth file-sharing, making it an ideal choice for sending large files like videos and high-resolution photos.

Xender features an intuitive interface that simplifies sending and receiving files. Its easy navigation and clear instructions make it accessible even for users who are not particularly tech-savvy.

Xender isn't just for file transfers—it also supports additional functionalities, such as replicating a smartphone's data when setting up a new device and a built-in file manager to organize and manage the files on your device.

However, there are a few drawbacks to using Xender.

Since Xender creates a local network for file transfer, it requires access to several permissions on your device. This might concern users who are particularly cautious about their privacy.

Additionally, the Wi-Fi Direct technology used by Xender can lead to significant battery drain during file transfers, especially when transmitting large files or during extended usage.

Both sending and receiving devices must have Xender installed for the transfer to work. This requirement means you can only transfer files to a device if the owner has installed Xender or is willing to do so.

It's also important to understand that unlike other file-sharing services offering cloud storage, Xender works solely as a transfer medium. It doesn't back up your files to the cloud, so you cannot recover lost data through the app.

Price

Xender is a free file-sharing app. There is no charge to download or use the app. It offers features like file transfer between devices, converting MP4 to MP3, and data transfer without using mobile data.

Final Verdict

Xender is a powerful app that has made file sharing immensely more convenient for millions worldwide. Its speed, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness—requiring no internet connection—are among the biggest draws. At the same time, considerations like privacy, security, and the presence of ads must be weighed.

For users who need to transfer files regularly and value quick, offline transactions, Xender is a robust tool. However, exploring alternative file-sharing applications or services might be worthwhile if the cons mentioned align closely with your concerns.

Like any technology, it's ultimately about finding the right balance that aligns with your needs and comfort levels. By evaluating the pros and cons, one can decide whether Xender is the file-sharing solution that best suits those needs. Remember that as technology evolves, so does software, and Xander's features or drawbacks may change in time, warranting a fresh look down the road.

NinjaOne review
10:52 am | June 12, 2024

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets Pro | Comments: Off

NinjaOne is a highly popular RMM and endpoint management solution that lets businesses and IT teams manage systems in their organization. Founded in 2013 by Sal Sferlazza and other IT pros, NinjaOne now boasts 17,000+ customers with over 5 million managed endpoints.

You can manage various kinds of devices such as Windows, Linux, Mac, and SNMP devices, VMWare endpoints, and cloud infrastructure.

In this article, we’ll discuss in detail the nuances of NinjaOne, including its features, performance, ease of use, and how it stacks up against the competition. Keep reading to find out if this is the RMM tool you’ve been looking for.

NinjaOne: Plans and pricing

NinjaOne does not reveal its pricing on its website. You’ll have to contact its sales team and specify your needs to get a custom quote.

However, after some digging, we were able to arrive at a few numbers. To put it broadly, you can expect to spend anywhere between $2-4 per endpoint, depending on the number of endpoints you need to manage.

For example, if you have around 50-100 points, you can expect a pricing of $3.5-4. You can also score better pricing if you’re willing to negotiate and press hard with the sales team. NinjaOne often offers volume-based and bundle discounts, too.

Plus, there’s also a free trial, which you can use to test the product out before reaching out to the sales team for a quote.

This custom pricing policy can be a mood killer for some users. With other RMM software, you know how much you will be spending right from the outset. However, with NinjaOne, you will get a quote only after an extensive conversation with a sales representative.

However, one of the biggest positives of custom pricing is customization – you only need to pay for the features and capacity you really want to use.

NinjaOne: Features

NinjaOne makes it easy to monitor all of your endpoints and generate custom alerts based on performance and health, making it one of the best remote desktop software. You can either use one of its 100+ monitoring templates or create one from scratch for custom alerts.

You can monitor information like processors, memory, antivirus statuses, Microsoft Security Centre status, network adapters, IP addresses, and loads more.

NinjaOne remote monitoring

We also like the fact that you can get alerts in more than one way – in-app notifications, email and SMS notifications, or mobile push notifications.

Taking this a step ahead, NinjaOne allows you to automate processes and workflows once a monitor is triggered. A common example can be automatic ticket creation whenever a server is down.

Patching is one of the key functions of RMM software and NinjaOne does this pretty well. As per the G2 Spring 2024 report, NinjaOne is the #1 rated patch management tool.

The platform employs a cloud-native approach to patch management. This means that it isn’t necessary for a user to be connected to the company’s network or VPN to be patched.

NinjaOne patch enablement

NinjaOne supports more than 140 commonly used applications, which can be patched automatically. We also liked the initiative, dashboard, and detailed patch status reports, which can help you view compliance status at any time.

The platform also connects seamlessly with Splashtop, TeamViewer, and Connectwise ScreenConnect, giving MSPs plenty of options to connect to endpoints. You also get multi-monitor support and adjustable-resolution video streaming, which works in any bandwidth condition.

NinjaOne: Interface and performance

The NinjaOne dashboard is pretty intuitive and easy to navigate. You get a panel on the left with a list of all connected endpoints. All you have to do is click on a connected system to view its status.

You also get a health overview of all the systems in your network. The platform offers tabs like overview, OS patches, software, tools, backup, etc. under each system setting. The activities tab, for example, gives you a detailed list of what each person was doing on the network, including login and logout times and software and hardware changes, among others.

NinjaOne dashboard

One thing we particularly liked about NinjaOne is its detailed URL addresses. Let’s say you’re checking the inventory status of one of your offices and want to share it with a team member. Instead of guiding them through the entire path, you can share the URL right down to the inventory list. Such detailed and specific URL addresses make navigation and internal communication pretty easy.

NinjaOne: Security

NinjaOne employs strict compliance, product, and information security protocols. The platform is compliant with GDPR, SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3, and HIPAA. NinjaOne goes out of its way and also complies with PCI-DSS, even though it’s not applicable to the company.

Other product-based security protocols include extensive audit logs, multi-factor authentication, and rule-based access controls. Apart from this, the platform uses industry-standard AES-256 for data encryption. All of your data is encrypted and stored on a secure, non-publicly accessible server.

NinjaOne also offers several security and backup tools to keep your data safe from external threats. You can remotely edit registries, manage applications, deploy scripts, and manage endpoint protection automatically on all devices.

There’s also a credential exchange that helps you store and inject credentials seamlessly while deploying patches or remote device connections. Furthermore, you can leverage the Ninja Data Protection feature to recover and backup critical information from a particular workstation or from entire servers with three storage options – local-only, cloud-only, and hybrid.

NinjaOne: Support

Customer service is another area where NinjaOne excels. With a CSAT (Customer Satisfaction) score of 98 and an average response time of 65 minutes, the platform is currently ranked number one based on a survey of 380+ MSPs.

In fact, you get free customer onboarding services with valuable technical advice, which makes initial onboarding and troubleshooting seamless.

NinjaOne: The competition

NinjaOne is an ideal solution if you’re a large business with around 500 to 1,000 endpoints. However, for smaller businesses with only a few systems, NinjaOne can be expensive. In this scenario, you can look at alternatives like AnyDesk, which costs just $14.90/month, allowing you to manage around 100 devices with just a single licensed user.

Another option you can consider is TeamViewer, which also offers a handy free plan for personal use. Besides this, you can choose from different plans, depending on the size of your business. What’s more, TeamViewer can help you with internal communication through audio and text conversations, and you also get a video conferencing feature along with a screen recorder.

NinjaOne: Final verdict

NinjaOne is, quite simply, one of the best RMM tools around, especially when it comes to patch management. You can automate various tasks across systems on an easy-to-use dashboard.

The best thing about the platform in our testing was its quick onboarding. With its complementary onboarding services, you can expect to manage endpoints within hours. Plus, its customer service team boasts a CSAT score of 98, which is always a huge positive.

The only downside to NinjaOne, if there were ever one, is its non-transparent pricing. You will have to contact the sales team and describe your needs in detail to get a quote.

Additionally, smaller teams with only a handful of endpoints may find NinjaOne to be a tad bit expensive. That said, NinjaOne is an excellent choice for large teams with more than 500-1000 systems to manage.

NinjaOne is a remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform with the aim of simplifying monitoring and managing endpoints through a lightweight agent application on the device. Not only can you monitor all your devices from a single place, but you can also run functions like OS and software patching, backups, and several automations.

How much does NinjaOne cost?

You’ll need to reach out to a NinjaOne sales representative to get a custom quote, which would be based on your organization's needs and the number of endpoints. On average, you can expect to spend around $2-4 per endpoint if you have more than 1,000 endpoints to manage.

For anything less than that, NinjaOne may prove to be slightly pricey. If you want something more affordable, you can look at AnyDesk. However, you may not get the superior patch management and customer service that NinjaOne offers.

What type of devices can I monitor with NinjaOne?

You can manage and monitor Windows, Mac, Linux, and VMware endpoints, as well as SNMP devices and cloud infrastructure, with NinjaOne. This ensures you have a one-stop solution for all your management needs.

The Varier Actulum is a stunning, seemingly simple piece of ergonomic furniture that effortlessly combines form and function and offers plenty of flexibility over its use. The chair's striking aesthetic, featuring a beautifully moulded ash frame and high-quality fabric seats, immediately sets it apart from conventional office and dining chairs. This Scandinavian-inspired design not only enhances the visual appeal of any space but also serves a crucial functional purpose.

We've tested out plenty of the best office chairs, but this one is certainly very different. Central to the Actulum's design is its active sitting position, which promotes subtle yet constant movement. Once you're sat in the chair, the pendulum motion enables you to tilt forward and backwards, responding naturally to your body's movements. Back in Action, who supplied the chair, highlights that this feature helps to build core muscles and reduces neck and back pain by encouraging an active posture.

However, initially, users may find the rocking motion and the firmer pads needing to be more familiar, especially if they are used to softer, static office chairs. However, these design choices are intentional and aimed at providing long-term comfort and health benefits. After just a short time with the chair, you can start to feel the support and, most importantly, a reduction in stiffness and discomfort associated with prolonged sitting that we all do when working on computers.

The Actulum's versatility is another significant advantage. Designed for both office and dining use, it offers the flexibility to fit seamlessly into various environments. Whether you are working at a desk or enjoying a meal, the chair provides consistent support and comfort. The natural movement encouraged by the chair not only helps maintain focus but also reduces the physical strain of being seated for extended periods.

Constructed from high-quality beech plywood, treated through an iterative moulding process, and finished with ash veneer, the chair feels like it has been built to last. The use of water-based lacquers should ensure the chair's resilience to extended use.

Despite its premium price, the Varier Actulum is a worthwhile investment. The high-quality materials, innovative ergonomic design, and the array of customisable upholstery options justify the cost when ordering. The chair's ability to offer you better posture, reduce discomfort, and support overall health makes it a great choice.

Varier Actulum home office chair review: Design & build

The chair reflects a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic, characterised by clean lines and bold colours that seamlessly blend wood and fabric. The ash wooden frame, available in either natural or black finishes, is moulded to create ergonomic curves that enhance both the chair's functionality and its tactile appeal. Large, flush bolts contrast against the light ash wood of our review sample, adding to the visual appeal while highlighting the chair's high-quality construction. Our review unit featured a striking yellow fabric, offering a vibrant touch to its sophisticated design.

The chair's frame is constructed from high-quality beech plywood treated through an iterative moulding process. This involves combining several layers of plywood, which are then glued together to achieve the chair's sweeping shapes. The plywood is covered with an ash veneer, which is manually sanded and coated with water-based lacquers for a durable finish. This finish is available in either natural ash or black ash, depending on the desired aesthetic.

A notable design feature is the absence of traditional full armrests. Instead, the ash frame sweeps back slightly, aiding both standing and moving the chair and supporting free movement while seated. This design choice may initially seem unconventional, but the absence of armrests quickly becomes a non-issue, as it enhances the chair's ergonomic benefits.

The Actulum has extensive fabric options. Our review model came with the bright yellow Revive fabric, which is the standard material for these chairs and is available in a huge range of colours. Revive is 100% recycled polyester that is both hard-wearing and soft on the skin. Other fabric options are available, such as wool blends and eco-friendly polyester blends, which can be better suited for different environments and workspaces. These alternative materials are available in a variety of colours but usually come at an additional cost.

Despite its comparatively lightweight design, the Varier Actulum is exceptionally sturdy. The chair easily supports the weight of a 13-stone (approximately 83 kg) individual, with a maximum payload of 110 kg (about 17 stone). The high-quality fabrics used are durable, and you can choose and adapt these materials to better suit your specific needs when ordering the chair.

One interesting feature is the hard rubber damper placed between the backrest and frame, designed to absorb impact when you sit down. This small but significant detail enhances the overall comfort and durability of the chair, ensuring a smoother and more supportive sitting experience.

Varier Actulum home office chair: Features

With this chair, it's all about that pendulum movement, which allows the chair to tilt forward and backward, responding naturally to your body movements. This dynamic sitting position helps to promote continuous micro-movements, which are beneficial for building core muscles and reducing neck and back pain. Unlike traditional chairs, the Actulum encourages an active sitting or kneeling posture, which the manufacturer highlights can lead to significant health benefits over time.

One of the unique features of the Actulum's design is the Flexible Backrest, which is made possible by a slim, flexible joint between the backrest and the frame. This feature allows the backrest to adapt to various sitting positions, providing consistent support and comfort as your body shifts throughout the day.

The price of chair is expensive, so it's reassuring that it has been constructed from High-Quality Materials with a frame made from top-quality beech plywood. This material undergoes an iterative moulding process involving heat and pressure, which ensures durability and flexibility. The plywood is then covered with an ash veneer, which is manually sanded and coated with water-based lacquers, providing a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish.

The chair is available in a variety of Upholstery Options, starting with the standard Revive fabric, a 100% recycled polyester that is both hard-wearing and soft on the skin. Our review sample arrived in a stunning bright yellow. Suppose you're looking for something different from the texture and finish of the fabric. In that case, you can select a variety of alternative materials when ordering, such as wool blends and eco-friendly polyester blends.

The Ergonomic Design supports a variety of sitting positions, which helps strengthen core muscles and promotes better posture. With a weight capacity of up to 110kg (approximately 17 stone), the Actulum is sturdy, robust, and elegant, accommodating a wide range of users.

Varier Actulum home office chair: Performance

Sitting on the Varier Actulum for the first time immediately highlights the difference between this chair and a standard office chair. The pendulum motion works with you, allowing the chair to move and tilt in response to your body. This dynamic interaction initially feels a bit disconcerting but is expected, given the chair's unique design. As you lean back, the chair tilts with you, and when you lean forward, it moves to support your new position. This takes a few moments to get used to, but it quickly becomes second nature.

As you continue using the chair, you'll notice the absence of rotation—unlike traditional office chairs. However, the armrests are set back, providing ample space to manoeuvre. The way you twist and move in the chair adapts naturally due to its design, allowing for fluid transitions between different sitting positions.

During the first few days, you will need to adapt to the Actulum's unique sitting experience. However, once you become accustomed to the chair's dynamics, it will feel natural and far more comfortable than standard office chairs.

Over a week, the initial awareness of the chair's distinct characteristics fades, and it becomes a seamless part of everyday working life. Unlike traditional office chairs that require constant adjustments for height, tilt, and armrests, the Actulum adapts to your body's natural movements.

Most office chairs have plenty of adjustment; however, the chair needs more manual adjustments, since it's designed to support natural body movements without the need for mechanical alterations. You adjust your seating position through your body's motions, making the chair intuitively comfortable.

This absence of adjustable parts might seem limiting at first, but it contributes to the chair's ergonomic benefits by encouraging continuous movement and reducing the tendency to remain in a static position. After a week of working hard, the chair blended into the office environment. As somewhere to sit when working, it was exceptionally comfortable to the point of not really being noticed. The style and design also gave the studio a touch of contemporary style amongst the lighting and backdrops. Still, most noticeably, even without wheels, the design and weight made it easy to manoeuvre.

The chair's flexibility and high-quality build make it suitable for both office and dining use, and the choice of materials means that you can adapt it to use and personalise it to your style. If you value comfort, design, and posture support, this chair is an excellent choice.
