Micron announced its UFS 4.0 mobile storage solution and revealed that it has already shipped qualification samples to “select global smartphone manufacturers and chipset vendors”. The new tech will be used to manufacture storage in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities. High-volume production will begin in the second half of this year, so it will be a while before the first phones with Micron UFS 4.0 storage arrive. The most important upgrade on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 over the Z Flip4 is the larger cover display – moving up from the tiny 1.9” (512 x 260px) to 3.4” (720 x 748px) will enable Samsung to run apps on the cover display, not just basic widgets. Motorola India teased the arrival of the Razr 40 series at the beginning of this month, but it’s only now that the company revealed the exact date – July 3, ten days from now and a month after the teaser. Motorola’s local branch has updated the pages for both the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra to list the launch date. Qualcomm announced it is expanding the S3 Gen 2 Sound with optimized latency that goes below 20 ms for “lag-free gaming audio.” Manufacturers can also utilize the platform to add Auracast broadcast audio functionality to dongles and adapters with source devices such as phones, laptops, and TVs.
