The Android 14 Beta 1, released by Google about a month ago, is now available for nine non-Google devices, including the Nothing Phone (1), OnePlus 11, vivo X90 Pro, iQOO 11, Realme GT 2 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 12T, and Oppo Find N2 Flip. However, remember that Android 14 Beta 1 may contain bugs that could hamper the usage, so it's best avoided on primary devices. It's also worth mentioning that the beta builds for the Nothing Phone (1), OnePlus 11, vivo X90 Pro, iQOO 11, Realme GT 2 Pro, and Oppo Find N2 Flip have known issues. If you still want to try the Android 14...

TinkerHost review

When it comes to choosing a hosting provider for your business or personal website, there are countless options available online.

One of those options is TinkerHost, a hosting provider that promises to offer fast and reliable service at 0% fees.

But is TinkerHost worth it? This review will take an in-depth look at TinkerHost and see if it’s the best web hosting provider for you.

What is TinkerHost?

TinkerHost is a free web hosting service provider that offers cloud hosting services. At its core, TinkerHost offers an innovative cloud-based hosting platform that uses the latest container technology. This technology offers several advantages; it makes it easier to deploy, scale, and manage your website, as well as improve the overall hosting speed and performance.

 What features does it offer?

One of the features I was excited to test was TinkerHost's FTP access. TinkerHost provides free FTP access that is easy to use for both web developers and non-technical users. The FTP access is reliable and fast, making it possible to manage files easily, especially when creating or editing a website. What I love most about FTP access is the flexibility that it offers when uploading multiple files to the server from my local machine.

As someone who loves working with different databases, I was curious about what TinkerHost had to offer. TinkerHost provides excellent tools for managing databases, including MySQL and PHPMyAdmin with user-friendly dashboards. The interface is very intuitive, and I was able to manage my data with ease. I must say that the impressive speed of TinkerHost's services made it easier for me to access these tools, reducing the time I would have otherwise spent waiting for the pages to load.

The security of a website is of utmost importance, and TinkerHost recognizes this. That is why it offers free SSL certificates to its clients, which provides protection against online threats. The certificates are easy to install and renew and offer HTTPS protection for users' websites, which is a huge plus. I was impressed to find out that there were auto-installable SSL certificates available, which made the installation process speedy and more convenient.

One of the things I loved about TinkerHost is its convenient, user-friendly subdomains feature. This feature lets you create additional websites with ease, allowing you to access subdomains in the control panel. This feature can be used to create websites on different topics or niches, a feature that I love since it makes it possible for businesses to have distinct websites for different departments, products, or services.

TinkerHost provides a magnificent script installer that has over 300 scripts. The installer is intelligent, making it easy to install and manage website applications that have different requirements including WordPress. The interface is user-friendly, making it easy for anyone to use, even with minimal technical knowledge.

The redirect and IP blocker features of TinkerHost are outstanding. The redirect feature is amazing since it allows you to redirect traffic to a specific URL or page to protect your site against hackers or other web-based attacks. On the other hand, the IP blocker feature protects websites from unwanted traffic, adding an extra layer of security.

TinkerHost provides an exceptional Softaculous app installer that provides access to hundreds of applications. What impressed me most about this feature was how you can automatically install WordPress in less than five minutes. Additionally, TinkerHost offers a backup feature that provides daily backups of your websites, and you have access to restore points in case of server failure or hacking attempts. Additionally, I found it useful that the backups are stored on a separate server, making it easier to avoid data loss. On top of that, the restoration process is simple and instant, which is handy if you ever face any issues with your website's backup.

SSD storage is another feature that TinkerHost offers. SSDs are faster and more reliable than traditional hard drives, which can help improve website performance and speed. Last but not least, TinkerHost also provides a website builder feature, which can help you create a professional-looking website without needing to know how to code. The website builder is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, so you can create a website quickly and easily.

Performance tested

TinkerHost's cPanel dashboard is relatively straightforward and easy to navigate. After creating a free account, I received an email with a link to activate my TinkerHost account. On the website's login window, you are required to enter your password and username. Once you log in, you will find menus like Account > Cert > Ticket. You should click on Account to create a domain name. Once you create an account, the next window will show your cPanel. On your cPanel, you will find options like FTP, PHPMyAdmin, ETC.

During the testing of TinkerHost, my test website performed exceptionally well. Installing themes and plugins via TinkerHost cPanel is fast and straightforward - all I had to do was scroll down and click on the Softaculous app installer. The cPanel interface is beginner-friendly, which is great for beginners who are not familiar with the tech side of running a website.

Another impressive aspect of TinkerHost's performance is that you can easily edit and modify your site via the cPanel dashboard. You don't have to be familiar with coding or hire a developer to carry out modifications or customization.

Speed and uptime

First, let's talk about uptime. TinkerHost claims to offer 99.9% uptime guaranteed, which is impressive. During my testing period, I monitored the uptime using third-party tools and was delighted to see that TinkerHost delivered what it promised. There were no noticeable downtimes or service disruptions during my testing period.

On to speed testing. Site speed is crucial to the user experience and also a significant SEO ranking factor. TinkerHost promises fast loading speeds, and after running several speed tests on my website, I can confirm that it delivers on its word. The website load times were impressive, and I didn't experience any slow-loading pages. Furthermore, TinkerHost uses SSD hardware, which contributes to its speedy performance.

TinkerHost premium pricing

Although TinkerHost is free, it does have premium packages that comes at a cost (Image credit: TinkerHost)

Pricing

Creating an account and hosting domains on TinkerHost is free of charge. However, the free version has its limitations, such as limited storage space and bandwidth, and limited customizations. The free version also does not allow you to use .com, .org, .net domain extensions. So if you want to unlock the full potential of TinkerHost, then it's worth considering the premium plans.

TinkerHost offers three premium packages - Super Premium, Ultimate Premium, and VPS Server. The first premium package available on TinkerHost is the Super Premium package, which costs $4.99 every month. In this package, you get super-fast SSD servers, 250GB of bandwidth per month, latest vendor cPanel, and unlimited hits. This package is perfect for small or medium-sized businesses that have high-traffic websites and need more resources and customization than the free version offers.

The Ultimate Premium package costs $7.99 every month and is best suited for larger businesses or individuals who require even more resources. It includes super-fast SSD servers, unlimited bandwidth, the latest vendor cPanel, and unlimited hits. With this package, you can create a fully customized website to meet your specific needs, and you don't have to worry about bandwidth restrictions or slow page loading speeds.

The third option available on TinkerHost is the VPS Server, which costs $9.99 every month. This package is the best choice for people who want root access to their server and more control over their website's resources. With this package, you get 30GB of RAID-protected storage, 125GB of bandwidth per month, accelerated Apache server, and full root access. The VPS Server package is ideal for those with large or complex websites that require dedicated server resources and customized features.

Security

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks are one of the biggest threats to website security, mainly if your website is handling sensitive and personal data on a large scale. TinkerHost's web hosting service is equipped with cutting-edge DDoS protection. It ensures that its users are always protected even when facing a malicious attack from multiple compromised computer systems. With DDoS protection, TinkerHost makes sure its servers stay up and running even in the event of an attack.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security protocol for encrypting information sent between a web server and a user's browser. It keeps sensitive information like credit card numbers, login credentials, and other confidential information secure from hackers. TinkerHost provides a private SSL, which guarantees that all information transmitted between your website and the web server is exceptionally safe and secure. With a Private SSL, you're assured of the encryption of all data transmission, including payments and login credentials. Also, TinkerHost uses the latest SSL/TSL certificates to ensure website security.

SSL/TSL (Transport Layer Security) provides encryption protocols for online transactions such as credit card payments, sensitive login information, and personal user data. TLS technology is more advanced than SSL and provides reliable security protection for your website data. With SSL/TSL, TinkerHost offers better protection against potential data breaches, resulting in total peace of mind for its users.

This web hosting service offers an IP blocker that provides an additional layer of protection from potential cyber-attacks. An IP blocker helps you block malicious IP addresses and restrict access to your website. It is a handy tool that allows you to control access to your server’s resources and protects your website from cyber-attacks. TinkerHost offers a comprehensive backup system that automatically backs up your data to an alternative location.

A backup system is critical to protecting your website's data in the event of a security breach or system failure. It ensures that your website's data is retained and secured with a regularly scheduled backup process so that you can access and retrieve your data at any time.

When it comes to customer support, TinkerHost does not offer the traditional channels such as live chat or phone support. However, this doesn't mean that support is non-existent. You can access its community forums, which are open to everyone, even if you use the free version of their service. The community forums are populated by TinkerHost users and active staff members. By using these forums, you can ask for help, get advice, and learn from other users' experiences.

It includes detailed tutorials, FAQs, and guides to help you learn how to use the  service. The forum is a vibrant community of users, and you can learn about TinkerHost from the collective experience of the community.

Dell U3224KB UltraSharp 6K Monitor Review
1:00 pm |

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets | Tags: | Comments: Off

Dell's newest release is more than just a monitor. In fact, the U3224KB UltraSharp 6K Monitor is a brilliant display, a Thunderbolt hub, a 4K webcam, and a soundbar, all built into one clean package.

Unboxing and First Impressions

Unboxing the U3224KB UltraSharp 6K Monitor was fairly straightforward. The box contained the monitor, the stand, the base, the power cable, and a few other cables. We put the base together quickly and powered up the screen. As soon as we placed it on our desk, we noticed that this display resembled all the other Dell monitors we've used before. It has a flat black front, a silver rounded backing, a basic stand with a small cable passthrough hole, and a straightforward user interface.

Design and Build Quality

The U3224KB 32-inch 6K monitor looks like most of Dell's offerings in this space, at least from the bottom up - until you reach the top.

Specs

Screen Size: 32-inches (31.5)

Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Resolution: 6144 x 3456

Brightness: HDR off - 450 nits (SDR)

HDR on - 750 nits

Viewing Angle: 178/178

Contrast Ratio: 2,000:1

Webcam: 4K HDR

Speakers: 2x 14W

Ports: 1x Security lock slot, 1x Power connector, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x mini DisplayPort 2.1, 1x Thunderbolt 4 downstream, 1x USB-C upstream, 1x Thunderbolt 4 (140W PD), 1x USB-A, 1x RJ45, 1x USB-C (15W PD, super speed 10Gbps), 1x USB-A (BC 1.2 with power charging, super speed 10Gbps), and 1x Stand lock.

The base and stand are the same, the UI joystick and button are the same, and even the port pop-out is the same as on some newer models. But, looking at the top of this monitor, it's like nothing we have seen before from Dell. The top of this display has a soundbar and a high-resolution camera built in, and both are pretty sleek and impressive.

The monitor is sharp and professional, with a clean black front and a brilliant silver backing panel. Dell has intentionally designed this monitor for professionals who care about productivity. The display itself is incredible, and features IPS Black, 99% Display P-3 color accuracy, and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. The camera on the top is not only crystal clear with 4K resolution and integrated AI to keep us looking even better (and in frame), but it also has a manual tilt which is excellent to help set a base height for our different team members, before we let AI take it from there.

We love a good docking station, but one great thing about the U3224KB UltraSharp 6K Monitor is that it has a Thunderbolt 4 hub built-in. This inclusion takes the "one cable connection" that many monitors are doing a step further. Now, with just one cable, this monitor can connect to the high speeds and high power of Thunderbolt 4.

(For more, check out our guide on Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C explained.)

Dell also chose to include an auto KVM switch to simplify multitasking, allowing users to switch between up to two computers seamlessly.

In Use

We've been able to use the U3224KB UltraSharp 6K Monitor for a couple of days and have been thoroughly impressed. The only other monitor we have seen that has successfully pulled off having a beautiful display, a beautiful webcam, quality audio, and Thunderbolt ports is the Apple Studio Display. Though the features align with the Studio Display, this screen aligns with the Apple Pro Display XDR in quality and size, though it is a lot cheaper and includes a wide array of ports that Apple's flagship monitor does not have.

The UltraSharp 32-inch monitor U3224KB has a great set of ports for a productivity workhorse. On top of the Thunderbolt 4 hub, this monitor has ports allowing "legacy" devices to connect, including our HDMI desktop (which isn't legacy), which can connect to this monitor without problems. Additionally, because Dell chose to add a handful of USB-A ports, we can charge devices and plug in flash drives without needing a dongle off the back of the monitor.

Back ports (Image credit: Collin Probst // Future)

Dell also chose to keep the front of the monitor aesthetic while functional. The user control is just behind the faint glowing light, showing us where to reach every time. They also have ports that can disappear when not in use and pop back out when needed.

Final Verdict

The Dell UltraSharp 32-inch 6K monitor is the display that we have been waiting for. We love Apple's flagship monitors but don't love the price or the lack of port options - and the Dell U3224KB answers that problem and then some. The picture quality is stunning, the port selection is excellent, the productivity features are lovely, and the camera is crisp. If you're looking for a 6K monitor, this might be the one you find yourself comparing other options to.

Nanonets Review: Pros & Cons, Features, Ratings, Pricing and more
11:31 am |

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets | Comments: Off

Nanonets was founded in 2017, and has its headquarters in San Francisco, California, with the mission of providing machine learning APIs for easy developer integration into their products. This company can provide offerings that go beyond traditional OCR software (optical character recognition), to provide an AI approach to document scanning and providing structured data processing. Nanonets gets used by about 10,000 customers worldwide, including well known companies such as Toyota, Sherwin Williams, Roche and Proctor and Gamble.

Nanonets: Features

The platform offers a wide range of features and tools that can help businesses process their data with ease. One of its most notable features is its advanced document classification and extraction capabilities. With Nanonets, businesses can easily train and deploy machine learning models that accurately classify and extract information from a variety of documents, such as invoices, receipts, contracts, and more. This can reduce the drudgery and time for manual data entry, which can be both laborious and costly to enter.

What’s more, Nanonets makes it a snap for businesses to build custom models- without the need for extensive programming experience. The platform provides a user-friendly interface to allow users to easily define the structure of their documents, and then specify the data that they have the need to extract.

Additionally, Nanonets provides users with templates, and pre-built models that can be then further customized to fit their specific needs. For example, entering data from an identity document is a need for many organizations. Nanonets provides these pre-built modules to cover a variety of this common scenario, that includes the Driver License OCR, a Passport OCR and an ID Card OCR that can grab the data off of each of these documents, recognize what type of data is being acquired, and then populate it into a database of defined fields, such as name, address, date of birth, and so forth. It can even do this across multiple languages, and layouts, and can integrate with KYC automation to verify the document, and in turn the client identity.

This same type of OCR and AI technology can be applied to other documents as well. This includes receipts, invoices, purchase orders, and bill of lading, and tables, making this a flexible platform across a variety of applications.

Another key feature of Nanonets is its support for various file formats. The platform supports popular file formats such as PDF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF, so they are not tied to a single format, making it easy for businesses to work with their existing data.

Nanonets: Pricing

The pricing of Nanonets is built around a few tiers. We appreciate the trial offer that the first 500 pages can be processed for free, but beyond that there is no free tier.

The lowest tier is the Starter tier, which is a pay as you go plan, which can process a document at $0.30 per page. It is only a la carte, with no monthly fee. It has limited fields, and features tables that can auto capture data.

Next up is the Pro tier, which has a cost of $499/month. It includes 5,000 pages per month, and beyond that the costs are $0.10 per page. It adds features including approval rules, access to annotation services, the option to add collaborators to the team, and up to 20 fields of data.

A criticism is that we would like to see a greater choice of plans, with an option between the Starter and Pro tier, for a lower volume, but regular user of the service.

At the top is the Enterprise plan, which is a custom plan and requires a specific quote from Nanonets to build and price. It adds upper end features, such as a dedicated account manager, custom data retention, customized client onboarding, and personalized 1:1 team training.

Nanonets: Support

There are multiple ways to get support for Nanonets. On the direct side, we found a direct phone number at the bottom of the webpage, along with a direct email and even a snail mail address. There is also a support portal that pops up for submission of a trouble ticket. We did not find chat, or a fax, and we also did not locate the hours of operation for support.

There are also some self help options, which include a Help Center, and a blog. The second of the two options is quite active with an additional article every few days, such as the latest how to “Automate Data Extraction from Patient Registration Forms.” The Help Center is a searchable database of content, divided into areas such as “Accuracy” and “Data Content.” Within each grouping are several articles, from under ten, to several dozen. We did not find any webinars, ebooks, or video tutorials.

Nanonets: Final verdict

Nanonets is a powerful AI platform enabling businesses that want to streamline their data processing and document analysis tasks. We appreciate the pros of the generous trial offer, the dedicated account manager on the enterprise tier, the multiple options for direct support, and the well done and regularly updated blog.

We also note the cons of the high expense of the Pro tier of plan, and not having an option for a cheaper plan other than pay as you go, and the lack of chat for support. With its intuitive interface and advanced machine learning capabilities, Nanonets is an ideal solution for businesses looking to leverage the power of AI to automate their workflows and improve operational efficiency.
