We haven’t seen a new Lenovo Legion phone in a while – the Legion Y70 was announced back in August last year and it seems the reasoning behind the long hiatus is that Lenovo has discontinued its Legion gaming phone business. A Lenovo spokesperson confirmed the departure of the Legion phone lineup in a statement to Android Authority which describes a wider “business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation”. Lenovo is discontinuing its Android-based Legion mobile gaming phones as part of a wider business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation. As a leader in...

Glorious GMMK Pro: Two-minute review

The Glorious GMMK Pro is one of those products that can be polarizing. On one hand, I can see why a lot of people love this mechanical keyboard, but on the other, I can also understand why many from the modding community aren't too keen on both the keyboard itself – and the company behind it.

After spending a couple of weeks using it as my main keyboard for work and for gaming, I’ve really come to appreciate why it’s gotten top marks from our peers. It’s a solid choice that’s not too shabby-looking either – probably among the best keyboards out there, whether you’re looking for a gaming keyboard or a productivity one.

But, after also building it myself, I can honestly say that it’s not all rainbows and unicorns either. While all the big parts – the top case, the switches, the keycaps, even the PCB – feel robust and premium, the small bits, particularly the tiny screws that keep the whole board together, aren’t top quality.

Some easily stripped at my first attempt to unscrew them, and one seems to have molded itself into the original switch plate that came with my barebone board, which isn’t something you want from a keyboard that’s supposed to be completely modifiable. I had to take mine to a jeweler, and even they had issues taking this pesky screw out.

On top of that, there seem to be some quality control issues as well. One of the screw holes on the polycarbonate switch plate I received for modding was too big for any of the included screws, which means that my review unit has a screw missing. And, while that doesn’t seem to have impacted performance, keyboard modders would certainly get turned off by it.

However, if Glorious manages to fix those issues, the Glorious GMMK Pro would probably be unstoppable. First of all, it makes it incredibly easy for beginner builders and modders to build their own boards from scratch, especially thanks to Glorious’ online configurator that lets you easily pick and choose all the parts you’ll need so that you can focus less on whether you’re picking the right ones and more on the building process itself.

Second of all, as I said earlier, the rest of it feels robust, and probably a lot tougher than many of the enthusiast mechanical keyboards that I spend money on monthly. And, honestly, if you care at all about aesthetics, you’ll appreciate just how gorgeous it can be, especially if you mod it to fit your own setup. Most of the parts, from the keycaps and rotary knob to the top frame and switch plate come in different colors (and sometimes, types).

The RGB lighting, which you’ll also find at the sides for a touch of ambient lighting, is bright and vibrant, and while it is a little on the heavy side at 3.3 lbs (1.51Kg), its 75% with 82 keys layout saves you space while ensuring you’ve still got access to keys that are vital to productivity. Even the cable is removable so you can spring for a coiled one that’s more robust and better looking.

Thanks to the straightforward and effortless-to-navigate Glorious Core app, it’s not just the physical board that’s customizable. You can also change its RGB lighting to change per-key colors, switch lighting effects, and adjust brightness, as well as adjust polling rate (125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1,000Hz) and input latency (2ms, 8ms, 16ms). And, as this is a gaming keyboard, the software will also let you bind any key to another key, a combination of keys, a mouse function, a macro, or a shortcut. Yes, this has fully programmable keys. You can even create profiles and layers.

An important thing to note, however, is that some users have reported bugs with their Glorious keyboards, and I noticed a few as well in the beginning. The first time I plugged it into my gaming PC, only the volume dial and RGB lighting were working. The keys themselves weren’t responsive, and I had to scour the internet for a solution. Luckily, it was simply a matter of opening the Glorious Core app and changing the current profile. I didn’t experience any other issues after.

The keys themselves are great to type on. They have more like a clacking sound, and while I’m more partial to a good thock sound, these aren’t too loud and definitely better than the annoying clicky ones. Meanwhile, the switches – I used both of Glorious’ Panda and Lynx mechanical switches – are very responsive and accurate, especially the Panda ones. And, they kept up with me, whether I was writing an article, composing email messages, or playing titles like Cyperpunk 2022, Rocket League, Hogwarts Legacy, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

There’s also no need to worry about latency here as it’s a wired keyboard – something that many gamers prefer over wireless options.

Glorious GMMK Pro: Price & availability

  • How much does it cost? From $169.99 (about £140 / AU$250)
  • When is it available? Available now
  • Where can you get it? Available in the US, UK, and Australia

The Glorious GMMK Pro isn’t going to be cheap, especially if you’re looking to build your own kit. The prebuilt version will set you back $349.99 (about £285 / AU$525) in the US, and that’s already a little too steep for most people. Building your own if you were to mod every single part will cost you a whole lot more, with the barebone kit already setting you back $169.99 (about £140 / AU$250), which is about the same as many prebuilt keebs from other enthusiast keyboard brands.

My own kit cost $169.99 for the barebone kit plus a $19.99 polycarbonate switch plate, $34.99 Glorious Lynx switches, $34.99 Glorious Pandas, $49.99 pastel PBT keycaps, a $59.99 aqua blue top frame, a $9.99 aqua blue rotary knob, and a $49.99 electric blue coiled cable. I also got a $7.99 switch puller as well. That’s a lot of money for many beginner modders to spend.

If you can afford it, however, you’ll be pleased to know that Glorious ships to the UK and Australia.

Should you buy the Glorious GMMK Pro?

Buy it if...

You want to build your own keyboard for the first time
It’s not for the budget-minded, but the Glorious GMMK Pro is still an easy and convenient way to start your keyboard building journey.

You want a highly-customizable keyboard kit
Despite the low-quality screws and the occasional quality control issue, this is one highly-customizable keyboard and great for those who love modding.

Don't buy it if...

You are an experienced keyboard builder or modder
You’ll find more affordable parts elsewhere if you are experienced and know where to get the ones.

You are on a budget
If you’re strapped for cash, this isn’t the most appealing or wise option. You’re better off doing your research or asking the modding community where to get the best bits.

How I tested the Glorious GMMK Pro

  • I spent half a day building this then a couple of weeks testing it
  • I tested it for work and for gaming
  • I used it on my work applications as well as different PC games

Because I got the keyboard-building kit version, I spent some time building the actual keyboard before getting around to testing it. After it was built, I tested it for two weeks, using it as my main keyboard for productivity and play.

I used it for composing work emails, writing work documents and articles, and playing PC games like Cyperpunk 2022, Rocket League, Hogwarts Legacy, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

A self-professed keyboard enthusiast with a modest but expanding mechanical keyboard collection, I've also been testing and reviewing keyboards for gaming, productivity, and creative work for years. While this is my first time building a keyboard from scratch, I have been modding my own keebs since 2022.

We pride ourselves on our independence and our rigorous review-testing process, offering up long-term attention to the products we review and making sure our reviews are updated and maintained - regardless of when a device was released if you can still buy it, it's on our radar.

Content writers and businesses looking to automate parts of their work are increasingly looking at AI writing assistant platforms. These platforms offer a range of approaches for creating consistent and lengthy articles that aim to convert customers and inform and entertain website visitors. Creaitor AI is a fairly new entrant to the category, with similarly lofty aspirations.

Want to try Creaitor AI? Check out the website here.

In the AI writing assistant niche, we’re now starting to see consistent offerings and approaches when it comes to creating a platform. We are, of course, referring to the “Templates” approach, which is used for content creation. But if the approach is the same, do they all offer the same results? Are there any differences, or should we just choose any of these? Read on to find out what unique features you can find with Creaitor AI and if it's worth your time.

Plans and pricing

In terms of pricing, Creaitor AI offers three plans, with the Basic one costing “only” $9 per month. It is aimed at a single user who is not looking to create more than 100,000 characters per month, so a small blog or business. Unfortunately, this plan does not offer SEO capabilities and has only “Good” content; read this as the content of a lesser quality, which definitely shows.

Moving up to the Standard plan, you will pay $29 a month for 300,000 characters and two users. The content quality is improved to “Great,” and you get SEO capabilities and the translation form, but not unlimited translations.

Finally, the Professional plan costs $59 a month for two users, unlimited “Great” content, and all the bells and whistles the platform offers.

If you’re looking to give the platform a go, you can do so through a free trial, which you can access without a credit card. Equally important, if you opt for annual billing, you will be able to save from 9 to 18%, depending on the plan you go for.

Creaitor AI

Features

For differentiation purposes the platform calls its “Templates,” as “AI assistant,” which basically offers you various templates for the creation of desired content. Here you will find over 70 different templates that will help you create everything from Google text ads to love letters (yes, love letters).

There is also a Search engine results pages (SERPs) beater function, which is possibly in beta function, as we did not have an opportunity to test it out. Every entry we made was simply ignored, but it was supposed to analyze the keywords the competition is using. After that, the platform would offer keywords that you should use to beat their results, but we failed to make it work.

The platform boasts support for over 46 languages, while the main use is, of course, in English. Most of the SEO capabilities will revolve around English, and the offering is solid in this regard.

An additional function is the image creator function, where the AI creates images based on your text input. It has a lot of functionalities, such as creating in the style of a famous artist, which you can choose from a drop-down menu. You can choose the mood, style, medium, color, and much more when inputting what you want the AI to create for you.

Despite the potential complexity of the image editor, don’t expect miracles. The output is usable, but as it is now, it cannot replace a good illustrator by any stretch of the imagination.

Interface and in use

The layout of the platform is logical, with a panel to the left side that contains all of the shortcuts. The design of the interface, in our opinion, is on the bland side, with a basic coloring scheme that seems like something an AI website builder created. Again the visual design may come down to personal preferences, so take it with a grain of salt.

Navigation is very simple; from the main dashboard, you can quickly access the functions you will probably use the most, such as the “Blog” template or “Writer.” Once you are in the chosen template, content creation is as simple as entering the desired topic and working around the suggested SEO elements. The “most complex” part of the interface is when you opt for creating images, where you have a dozen drop-down menus to choose from, but still, the platform is easy to use and is very intuitive.

Creaitor AI

Creaitor AI UI (Image credit: Creaitor AI)

Support

The platform offers a help section that currently holds 13 articles that describe the functionality of the platform and offers “Getting Started” articles that are fairly easy to follow.

There is a thriving Facebook community where you can get answers to your questions in real time. However, the platform is very easy to use, that in all actuality, you will not need any support when it comes to its utilization.

Security

Creaitor AI is a Swiss-based platform; therefore, the site aims at following all of the EU GDPR procedures. You can find detailed terms, privacy policies, and data protection details on the website. When it comes to security measures, the company claims that they’re undertaking all measures in accordance with European laws and regulations.

Test

We’ve given the platform our standard test of writing a simple topic. The goal was to cover “Artificial intelligence helps writers be more succinct” utilizing its AI writer option.

The results of the test using the open-form writer option offers a brief 60+ words paragraph on the topic. The paragraphs contain broad descriptions of the topic, which sound a bit bland, so for a proper presentation of this paragraph, you would have to do a lot of editing or even a complete rewrite.

Creaitor AI

Creaitor AI test (Image credit: Creaitor AI)

The competition

JasperAI has a comprehensive platform that rivals numerous other AI writing assistant platforms. It has a wider application of SEO tools and Google ads research, offering a much more comprehensive and useful platform overall.

Longshot AI is another comprehensive platform that offers a lot of integration options and numerous templates for content creation. It is pricier than Creaitor AI, but offers better results and more options overall.

Final verdict

Creaitor AI tries to squeeze itself into the AI writing assistant platform niche by offering lower upfront costs. The results you get often require editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and sometimes complete rewrites.

We had a buggy experience with the SERP beater tool, and the AI image creator is only passable. Overall, there are better platforms out there if you’re looking for an AI assistant, but getting a few days of free trial without having to give out your credit card information cannot be beaten. So if you have some time on your hands, give the platform a try, perhaps it can offer you some benefits.

Writer.com

Being stuck while writing a sentence or paragraph will likely become a thing of the past with new AI writing assistants. More and more content writers and writers in general, are turning to online tools that help them stay consistent and improve their message. One such online platform is Writer.com which looks to help you create a consistent message across all of your writing assignments.

Want to try Writer.com? Check out the website here.

If you’re looking for a platform that will do the writing for you, then Writer.com is not what you’re looking for. Writer.com has a completely different approach, setting itself as a true assistant in writing, not a replacement. But is it any good, and can you extract value from it? Read on to find out.

Plans and pricing

Writer.com keeps it simple with its pricing plans. There are basically only two pricing plans, the Team plan that costs $18 a month for up to five users and pretty much gives you all of the features.

The second one, Enterprise plan, has no listed price, so you will have to go through sales to discuss pricing details and the size of your team.

If you’re looking to take the platform for a “test drive,” you can do so via the 14-day free trial, which will require credit card details. The free trial and the Team plan are limited to 15,000 words for automated content generation and 50,000 words for AI content detection API, per month.

Writer.com

Features

At its core, Writer.com is a writing and grammar tool without the flashy auto-generation content that platforms like Jasper offers. It focuses on companies and brands with multiple writers who create content that is true to the brand’s voice.

As an administrator, you can set up things like: messaging goals, tone, style, guides, writing for gender or accessibility, plagiarism issues, preferred terms, and proper industry definitions. All of these guidelines that you set up initially will help keep the entire writing staff on track and consistent.

For writers, the option of customizing suggestions the platform gives during writing will be of immense benefit, as you can further hone the platform to your specific style of writing. Furthermore, you have an option of creating your own “snippets,” i.e., a paragraph or phrase you often use, which you can call on with a simple shortcut you yourself create. This is useful if you add disclaimers at the end of your text, which you can create with just a single shortcut.

The autocorrect option that the platform provides is pretty accurate, and it can speed up the creation process as you won’t have to go back to re-read the text, hunting for grammatical errors.

The above-mentioned options for honing your message are great for teams and can be customized in detail to make your writing staff as productive as possible. With reporting and analytics features of the platform, you can hone in on the mistakes the team is making and make corrections on the fly. Furthermore, you can get all the insights you need and can customize it based on the rules you set during the configuration of the platform.

On the side of the plug-ins, the platform offers it for Google Docs, Chrome, and Microsoft 365, which means you can get style guides across almost all platforms that you use for writing.

Interface and in use

The interface is fairly simple and clean without additional buttons or graphics that distract from the main task, writing. After you log in, you will be taken to the user portal and dashboard. On the left-hand side, the toolbar contains elements that we mentioned above, such as Styleguide, tone, and other company set protocols.

While the UI is clean, there is a steeper learning curve, especially if you have never used a writing platform before. The autocorrect and suggestions will speed up the process but again you will need some time to get used to it all.

Support

Writer.com offers an onboarding assistant program that can assist new brands implement their styleguide. The team will also help in understanding the in’s and out’s of the platform. If the initial detailed walkthrough is not enough the support continues 24/7 through email, phone and chat.

Equally important, are the onboarding materials that are available through the platform. Finally, the blog is a great place to learn about how others are utilizing the platform, which in turn can also solve issues that you may encounter.

Security

As the platform primarily aims at business users and businesses in general, security is top-notch. It offers encryption, storage, and security that is fit for sensitive corporate information. Following through on strict EU regulations won’t be an issue with Writer.com as the platform has all of the necessary processes in place.

The competition

Grammarly is probably the only true competitor, but it doesn’t offer nearly as much as writer.com does. Grammarly is a cheap alternative for individual writers who would like to have their grammar corrected in real-time and enjoy some suggestions while writing.

Jasper AI is a close competitor that offers AI content generation, stylistic changes to one’s writing, and much more. The drawback is that with AI writers, it is difficult to stay consistent and they require a lot of editing.

Final verdict

Writer.com is a complex, yet simple-to-use platform that has its specific niche. Unlike the AI writers, Writer.com helps you create your style that you can then replicate across your writing team.

It is fairly inexpensive compared to what it offers, and if you’re already using Grammarly or a similar service, then giving Writer.com a test run is almost a no-brainer.

INK

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets | Comments: Off

With the market getting saturated by functional AI writing tools and writing assistant tools, it is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate one from the other. INK focuses on SEO-tailored content and proprietary language models as its unique selling proposition (USP).

Want to try INK? Check out the website here.

INK has received a lot of hype in the AI writing assistant world, but does it actually deliver all that it promises? Let’s dive in to see its features, usability, pricing, and other aspects that could potentially swing you in favor of trying INK out.

Plans and pricing

From what we’ve seen from other AI platforms, INK is quite pricy. It offers two plans, a Professional plan that costs $49 a month and an Enterprise plan at $119 a month. If you opt to pay annually you can get a discount and two months free of charge. You can also start your 5-day free trial with 10,000 words without having to give them your credit card details.

The Professional plan contains all the bells and whistles you may need as a company's content writer, SEO specialist, or marketer. That includes their proprietary AI shield and language models that help tailor content so that Google cannot flag it as AI-created content.

With Enterprise, you can onboard more people (up to 50), manage the team through the platform, and get premium support. This includes a dedicated account manager who can assist in account setup, as well as any other issues you may encounter while using the platform. Note that scaling up the number of team members will cost you a lot more, as the Enterprise plan includes “only” 3 users by default.

INK

INK pricing options (Image credit: INK)

Features

INK offers a feature-packed platform, for example, if you’re looking to create content from scratch the AI keyword research, tool can help there. An additional benefit is the AI keyword clustering tool that allows you to group keywords together that share the same search intent.

After doing your keyword research, you can jump into AI writer, which can create headlines, outlines, and content from scratch or by using the keywords that you researched. It bundles the AI writer with its AI SEO tool which can also be used separately to do your own SEO research.

Content creation utilizes INK’s proprietary tools and AI Shield which are aimed at circumventing Google’s detection algorithms for AI-generated content.

Another neat feature that INK offers is creating images from text, a popular AI tool, that can be of great use for bloggers looking to create unique images for their posts. However, don’t expect miracles from the image tool, as it tends to struggle with long-form descriptions, and more often than not, you’ll end up scraping the tool altogether after a few frustrating attempts to get a usable image.

Interface and in use

Of all AI writing tools and assistants, INK ranks among the top when it comes to its interface and ease of use. The slick design and coloring scheme make the site pop. Navigation is easy and seamless, with all major functions clearly labeled.

Jumping into any of the functions the platform offers is just one click away, and once you are in your chosen tab, you can start creating by simply typing a few words and clicking on "generate".

If you’re not a fan of the default dark theme, you can switch to a light theme, though, in our opinion, the dark one looks much better and is easier on the eyes.

INK

INK dashboard (Image credit: INK)

Support

Once you actually sign up with INK, you will be welcomed by a video from the co-founder, who will demo the features of the platform. That in and of itself is more than enough to get you started on your content creation journey. However, if you’re looking for more support, you can get it through the dedicated Support section.

That being said, the comprehensive FAQ, in our opinion, covers all eventualities that you may come across when using the platform. If you are feeling stuck, you can reach out to the active INK community over at Facebook.

If you’re more of a DIY person, you can head on over to INK Bootcamp, where you can cover topics and examples and learn more about the platform yourself.

Security

When it comes to security details, the code of conduct and privacy policy cover all of the basics of security. Industry-standard security mechanisms are employed by the platform, but the onus is on the user to ensure that their connection and private information are secure at all times.

Test

We’ve given the platform our standard test of writing a simple topic. The goal was to cover “Artificial intelligence helps writers be more succinct” utilizing its AI writer option.

The results were really good, with INK covering almost all aspects of how AI can help writers be more succinct and better overall. Keep in mind that the topic we chose is fairly simple, and perhaps trendy, more complex topics tend to have factual fallacies that you must correct yourself.

INK

INK test (Image credit: INK)

The competition

JasperAI has a comprehensive platform that rivals INK, with wider application of SEO tools and Google ads research. Like INK, the text needs to be perfected before it can go out into the public. It can get much pricier if you’re looking for a lot of output though.

AIWriter is the complete opposite of INK, focusing on bland presentation and simple usage. It creates passable content that needs to be edited but can help in researching new ideas. It offers a much cheaper alternative to INK, but lacks advanced functionality.

Final verdict

INK is a powerful all-in-one AI writing platform that captivates users through its sleek design and numerous content creation and editing options. However, behind its allure lies steep pricing and the fact that you cannot fully automate your content creation through the platform.

Factual fallacies, and outdated SEO practices the platform offers, ruin an otherwise pleasant experience of using INK.
