Samsung posted a video revealing new capabilities of the ISOCELL 200 MP sensor, powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset by Qualcomm. There isn't a smartphone on the market with such hardware, so this is clearly a teaser for the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra. Here's the 60-second video and keep reading for a breakdown of what's inside. Zoom Anyplace automatically tracks subjects in a video but also keeps capturing full-frame zoomed-out footage of the entire scene. This means the sensor essentially allows capturing two 4K video streams - of the cropped area and one of the whole...

Intel Arc A770: One-minute review

The Intel Arc A770 has had quite a journey since its release back on October 12, 2022, and fortunately, it has been a positive one for Intel despite a somewhat rocky start.

Right out the gate, I'll say that if you are looking for one of the best cheap graphics cards for 1440p gaming, this card definitely needs to be on your list. It offers great 1440p performance for most modern PC titles that most of us are going to be playing and it's priced very competitively against its rivals.

Where the card falters, much like with my Intel Arc A750 review earlier this year, is with older DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 titles, and this really does hurt its overall score in the end. Which is a shame, since for games released in the last five or six years, this card is going to surprise a lot of people who might have written it off even six months ago.

Intel's discrete graphics unit has been working overtime on its driver for this card, providing regular updates that continue to improve performance across the board, though some games benefit more than others.

Naturally, a lot of emphasis is going to be put on more recently released titles. And even though Intel has also been paying attention to shoring up support for older games as well, if you're someone with an extensive back catalog of DX9 and DX10 titles from the mid-2000s that you regularly return to, then this is not the best graphics card for your needs. Nvidia and AMD drivers carry a long legacy of support for older titles that Intel will honestly never be able to match.

But if what you're looking for is the best 1440p graphics card to play the best PC games of the modern era but you're not about to plop down half a grand on a new GPU, then the Intel Arc A770 is going to be a very solid pick with a lot more to offer than many will probably realize.

Intel Arc A770: Price & availability

  • How much is it? US MSRP for 16GB card: $349 (about £280/AU$510); for 8GB card: $329 (about £265/AU$475)
  • When was it released? It went on sale on October 12, 2022
  • Where can you buy it? Available in the US, UK, and Australia

The Intel Arc A770 is available now in the US, UK, and Australia, with two variants: one with 16GB GDDR6 VRAM and an official US MSRP of $349 (about £280/AU$510), and one with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM and an official MSRP of $329 (about £265/AU$475).

Those are the launch MSRPs from October 2022, of course, and the cards have come down considerably in price in the year since their release, and you can either card for about 20% to 25% less than that. This is important, since the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 and AMD Radeon RX 7600 are very close to the 16GB Arc A770 cards in terms of current prices, and offer distinct advantages that will make potential buyers want to go with the latter rather than the former.

But those decisions are not as cut and dry as you might think, and Intel's Arc A770 holds up very well against modern midrange offerings, despite really being a last-gen card. And, currently, the 16GB variant is the only 1440p card that you're going to find at this price, even among Nvidia and AMD's last-gen offerings like the RTX 3060 Ti and AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT. So for 1440p gamers on a very tight budget, this card fills a very vital niche, and it's really the only card that does so.

Intel Arc A770: Design

  • Intel's Limited Edition reference card is gorgeous
  • Will fit most gaming PC cases easily
Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition Design Specs

Slot size: Dual slot
Length: 11.02 inches | 280mm
Height: 4.53 inches | 115mm
Cooling: Dual fan
Power Connection: 1 x 8-pin and 1 x 6-pin
Video outputs: 3 x DisplayPort 2.0, 1 x HDMI 2.1

The Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition that I'm reviewing is Intel's reference model that is no longer being manufactured, but you can still find some stock online (though at what price is a whole other question).

Third-party partners include ASRock, Sparkle, and Gunnir. Interestingly, Acer also makes its own version of the A770 (the Acer Predator BiFrost Arc A770), the first time the company has dipped its toe into the discrete graphics card market.

All of these cards will obviously differ in terms of their shrouds, cooling solutions, and overall size, but as far as Intel's Limited Edition card goes, it's one of my favorite graphics cards ever in terms of aesthetics. If it were still easily available, I'd give this design five out of five, hands down, but most purchasers will have to opt for third-party cards which aren't nearly as good-looking, as far as I'm concerned, so I have to dock a point for that.

It's hard to convey from just the photos of the card, but the black finish on the plastic shroud of the card has a lovely textured feel to it. It's not quite velvety, but you know it's different the second you touch it, and it's something that really stands out from every other card I've reviewed.

The silver trim on the card and the more subtle RGB lighting against a matte black shroud and fans really bring a bit of class to the RGB graphics card I typically see. The twin fans aren't especially loud (not any more so than other dual-fan cards, at least), and the card feels thinner than most other similar cards I've reviewed and used, whether or not the card is thinner in fact.

The power connector is an 8-pin and 6-pin combo, so you'll have a pair of cables dangling from the card which may or may not affect the aesthetic of your case, but at least you won't need to worry about a 12VHPWR or 12-pin adapter like you do with Nvidia's RTX 4000-series and 3000-series cards.

You're also getting three DisplayPort 2.0 outputs and an HDMI 2.1 output, which puts it in the same camp as Nvidia's recent GPUs, but can't match AMD's recent move to DisplayPort 2.1, which will enable faster 8K video output. As it stands, the Intel Arc A770 is limited to 8K@60Hz, just like Nvidia. Will you be doing much 8K gaming on a 16GB card? Absolutely not, but as we get more 8K monitors next year, it'd be nice to have an 8K desktop running at 165Hz, but that's a very speculative prospect at this point, so it's probably not anything anyone looking at the Arc A770 needs to be concerned about.

  • Design Score: 4 / 5

Intel Arc A770: Specs & features

  • Good hardware AI cores for better XeSS upscaling
  • Fast memory for better 1440p performance

Intel's Xe HPG architecture inside the Arc A770 introduces a whole other way to arrange the various co-processors that make up a GPU, adding a third, not very easily comparable set of specs to the already head-scratching differences between Nvidia and AMD architectures.

Intel breaks up its architecture into "render slices", which contain 4 Xe Cores, which each contain 128 shaders, a ray tracing processor, and 16 matrix processors (which are directly comparable to Nvidia's vaunted tensor cores at least), which handle graphics upsampling and machine learning workflows. Both 8GB and 16GB versions of the A770 contain eight render slices for a total of 4096 shaders, 32 ray processors, and 512 matrix processors.

The ACM-G10 GPU in the A770 runs at 2,100MHz base frequency with a 2,400MHz boost frequency, with a slightly faster memory clock speed (2,184MHz) for the 16GB variant than the 8GB variant's 2,000MHz. This leads to an effective memory speed of 16 Gbps for the 8GB card and 17.5 Gbps for the 16GB.

With a 256-bit memory bus, this gives the Arc A770 a much wider lane for high-resolution textures to be processed through, reducing bottlenecks and enabling faster performance when gaming at 1440p and higher resolutions thanks to a 512 GB/s and 559.9 GB/s memory bandwidth for the 8GB and 16GB cards, respectively.

All of this does require a good bit of power, though, and the Arc A770 has a TDP of 225W, which is higher than most 1440p cards on the market today.

(Image credit: Future / John Loeffler)

As far as features all this hardware empowers, there's a lot to like here. The matrix cores are leveraged to great effect by Intel's XeSS graphics upscaling tech found in a growing number of games, and this hardware advantage generally outperforms AMD's FSR 2.0, which is strictly a software-based upscaler.

XeSS does not have frame generation though, and the matrix processors in the Arc A770 are not nearly as mature as Nvidia's 3rd and 4th generation tensor cores found in the RTX 3000-series and RTX 4000-series, respectively.

The Arc A770 also has AV1 hardware-accelerated encoding support, meaning that streaming videos will look far better than those with only software encoding at the same bitrate, making this a compelling alternative for video creators who don't have the money to invest in one of Nvidia's 4000-series GPUs.

Intel Arc A770: Performance

  • Great 1440p performance
  • Intel XeSS even allows for some 4K gaming
  • DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 support lacking, so older games will run poorly
  • Resizable BAR is pretty much a must

At the time of this writing, Intel's Arc A770 has been on the market for about a year, and I have to admit, had I gotten the chance to review this card at launch, I would probably have been as unkind as many other reviewers were.

As it stands though, the Intel Arc A770 fixes many of the issues I found when I reviewed the A750, but some issues still hold this card back somewhat. For starters, if you don't enable Resizable BAR in your BIOS settings, don't expect this card to perform well at all. It's an easy enough fix, but one that is likely to be overlooked, so it's important to know that going in.

In synthetic benchmarks, the A770 performed fairly well against the current crop of graphics cards, despite its effectively being a last-gen card. It is particularly strong competition against the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti across multiple workloads, and it even beats the 4060 Ti in a couple of tests.

Its Achilles Heel, though, is revealed in the PassMark 3D Graphics test. Whereas 3DMark tests DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 workloads, Passmark's test also runs DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 workflows, and here the Intel Arc A770 simply can't keep up with AMD and Nvidia.

In non-ray-traced and native-resolution gaming benchmarks, the Intel Arc A770 managed to put up some decent numbers against the competition. At 1080p, the Arc A770 manages an average of 103 fps with an average minimum fps of 54. At 1440p, it averages 78 fps, with an average minimum of 47, and even at 4K, the A770 manages an average of 46 fps, with an average minimum of 27 fps.

Turn on ray tracing, however, and these numbers understandably tank, as they do for just about every card below the RTX 4070 Ti and RX 7900 XT. Still, even here, the A770 does manage an average fps of 41 fps, with an average minimum of 32 fps) at 1080p with ray tracing enabled, which is technically still playable performance. Once you move up to 1440p and 4K, however, your average title isn't going to be playable at native resolution with ray tracing enabled.

Enter Intel XeSS. When set to "Balanced", XeSS turns out to be a game changer for the A770, getting it an average framerate of 66 fps (with an average minimum of 46 fps) at 1080p, an average of 51 fps (with an average minimum of 38 fps) at 1440p, and an average 33 fps (average minimum 26 fps) at 4K with ray tracing maxed out.

While the 26 fps average minimum fps at 4K means it's really not playable at that resolution even with XeSS turned on, with settings tweaks, or more modest ray tracing, you could probably bring that up into the low to high 30s, making 4K games playable on this card with ray tracing turned on.

That's something the RTX 4060 Ti can't manage thanks to its smaller frame buffer (8GB VRAM), and while the 16GB RTX 4060 Ti could theoretically perform better (I have not tested the 16GB so I cannot say for certain), it still has half the memory bus width of the A770, leading to a much lower bandwidth for larger texture files to pass through.

This creates an inescapable bottleneck that the RTX 4060 Ti's much larger L2 cache can't adequately compensate for, and so takes it out of the running as a 4K card. When tested, very few games managed to maintain playable frame rates even without ray tracing unless you dropped the settings so low as to not make it worth the effort. The A770 16GB, meanwhile, isn't technically a 4K card, but it can still dabble at that resolution with the right settings tweaks and still look reasonably good.

All told, then, the Intel Arc A770 turns out to be a surprisingly good graphics card for modern gaming titles that can sometimes even hold its own against the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti. It can't hold a candle to the RX 7700 XT or RTX 4070, but it was never meant to, and given that those cards cost substantially more than the Arc A770, this is entirely expected.

Its maximum observed power draw of 191.909W is pretty high for the kind of card the A770 is, but it's not the most egregious offender in that regard. All this power meant that keeping it cool was a struggle, with its maximum observed temperature hitting about 74 ºC.

Among all the cards tested, the Intel Arc A770 was at nearly the bottom of the list with the RX 6700 XT, so the picture for this card might have been very different had it launched three years ago and it had to compete with the RTX 3000-series and RX-6000 series exclusively. In the end, this card performs like a last-gen card, because it is.

Despite that, it still manages to be a fantastic value on the market right now given its low MSRP and fairly solid performance, rivaling the RTX 4060 Ti on the numbers. In reality though, with this card selling for significantly less than its MSRP, it is inarguably the best value among midrange cards right now, and it's not even close.

Also Consider

If my Intel Arc A770 review has you considering other options, here are two more graphics cards for you to consider.

How I tested the Intel Arc A770

  • I spent several days benchmarking the card, with an additional week using it as my primary GPU
  • I ran our standard battery of synthetic and gaming benchmarks
Test Bench

These are the specs for the test system used for this review:

Motherboard: MSI MPG Z790E Tomahawk Wifi
Memory:
64GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5-6000
SSD: Samsung 990 Pro
PSU: Thermaltake PF3 1050W ATX 3.0

I spent about two weeks with the Intel Arc A770 in total, with a little over half that time using it as my main GPU on my personal PC. I used it for gaming, content creation, and other general-purpose use with varying demands on the card.

I focused mostly on synthetic and gaming benchmarks since this card is overwhelmingly a gaming graphics card. Though it does have some video content creation potential, it's not enough to dethrone Nvidia's 4000-series GPUs, so it isn't a viable rival in that sense and wasn't tested as such.

I've been reviewing computer hardware for years now, with an extensive computer science background as well, so I know how graphics cards like this should perform at this tier.

Logitech Zone Wireless 2 review: AI and performance married to a somewhat perfect union

Logitech Zone Wireless 2: Two-minute review

A luxury headset that makes use of AI features seems like an obvious concept now, but it still surprised me seeing Logitech Zone Wireless 2 take full advantage of modern advancements to implement AI in a mostly successful way. According to Logitech, the AI tech was built from the ground up into the hardware, which is apparent from how every aspect of this headset revolves around it.

It’s not to its detriment either and only feels a little gimmicky. ANC is run by AI, and you’re able to adjust between several different levels or turn it off completely. Plus, there’s a feature called Personal EQ that can even adjust how it adapts to your hearing through a brief set of questions through the app.

Other than traditional noise-cancelling, there are other interesting variations. For instance, when making phone calls, you can not only cancel out background noise on your end but the AI can recognize the other caller’s voice and filter it from their background noise as well.

There’s also a slew of other AI quality-of-life tools and features, like connecting to up to two devices via Bluetooth and switching between them on the fly. And if you’re using the wireless dongle instead, there’s a feature called Smart Enumeration where if a device is not in use audio will not come out from it.

If you remove the headset while listening to audio, it automatically pauses. Meanwhile, putting them back on resumes and tilting either speaker can also mute any audio. An option lets you automatically answer a phone call by putting on the headset if you’re connected to a smartphone.

There are health and safety options too, like anti-startle protection that limits sudden high-pitched noises as well as noise exposure control that measures daily noise levels in a call and ensures it doesn’t exceed a certain amount.

So how do all these AI tools measure up? Pretty well but not perfect.

At the very least, this headset could easily land as one of the best wireless headphones but not take the top spot. The auto-pause feature is good except when it doesn’t pause because it doesn’t recognize the action of pulling off the headset or when stays paused even when I put it back on. The tilt mute feature is very spotty, and I found that it either doesn’t register me tilting it deliberately, or it’s overly sensitive and mutes at a slight nudge.

The noise-canceling is probably the only feature that works just as promised, with every ANC setting reducing outside and background sounds to a near-perfect degree. It still shocks me how instantaneous the effect is.

The Logitech Zone Wireless 2 has a lovely audio quality, with a great soundscape that’s able to handle a wide range of highs and lows. Even the bass is robust and loses very little quality at max volume, and I could suitably feel it in my teeth, which is a great sign to me. It’s also flexible to handle music and audio from video games, movies, music from streaming services, and more.

I love that for a headset with an adjustable microphone, the 90-degree swivel on the earphones makes it completely ambidextrous. Unfortunately, the build quality is a little disappointing for such an expensive product. It’s admirable that the headset is made of 22% recycled plastic and low-carbon aluminum, but the seams of the headband cover split a little from the headband when I pull on it.

Of course, not many people will be stretching the headband to that extent but when I compare it to the Razer Barracuda Pro, which has a similar price point even if it doesn't exactly make it to our best PC gaming headsets list, it doesn't measure up in build quality. To offset this, Logitech does make it so that buyers can completely repair and replace parts on their own, which is something that should be a standard for any of these devices.

pink headset

One advantage it does has over other headsets is just how light and comfortable it feels. The ear cushions and headband cover are clearly made of memory foam and, coupled with the light weight, make it feel like I’m wearing a cloud.

Another issue is the battery, which lasts up to 40 hours listening with ANC off, up to 22 hours listening with ANC on, and a talk time of 15 hours with ANC on and up to 18 hours with ANC off. Not amazing. At best, you're required to charge it every two days of regular use, which can get a bit cumbersome. It gets even worse, as I noticed that when the power dips below 40% the volume and audio quality dip as if there’s some background battery-saver mode that's activating.

Compared to the Razer Barracuda Pro's 40-hour battery life that lets you drain every last drop of power while maintaining perfect audio quality, Logitech's own offering pales in comparison.

Logitech Zone Wireless 2: Price & availability

  • How much does it cost? $299.99 / £299.99 / AU$499.95
  • When is it available? October 2023
  • Where can you get it? Available in the US, UK, and Australia

The Logitech Zone Wireless 2 will be available in the US, UK, and Australia in October 2023 for an MSRP of $299.99 / £299.99 / AU$499.95.

The price point is quite steep, putting it firmly in the luxury headset market. That on its own isn’t bad, as there’s plenty of tech and development that’s gone into it. But considering that the build quality isn’t as high as similar headsets like the Razer Barracuda Pro and Logitech’s own Pro X 2 Lightspeed, the MSRP sticks out like a sore thumb.

  • Value: 4 / 5

Buy it if...

You want a headset with AI features
The AI features are quite good, elevating the noise canceling to greater heights and adding cool abilities like smart pausing.

You want a light and comfortable headset
One of the best features of this headset is that, unlike many other bulky headphones, this one is super light and the memory fits your ears like a cloud.

Don't buy it if...

You need a long-lasting battery
Battery life isn't bad but you'll find it draining faster than you realize, needing a charge every couple days of regular use.

You're on a tight budget
This is an extremely pricey headset, so if you're on a budget there are plenty of cheaper alternatives.

AI-Writer review: Is this the AI writing solution for you?

In today's digital era, having unique and high-quality content is paramount for businesses to succeed. However, creating such content can be challenging and time-consuming. This is where AI-powered writing assistants come in handy. There are many options available on the market, but one of the most popular and reliable ones is AI-Writer.

AI-Writer is a premium tool that offers a variety of features to help you improve your pre-existing content and write new articles from scratch. The tool is available at different prices, making it accessible to businesses (or individuals)  of all sizes.

One of the most significant advantages of using AI-Writer is its SEO-friendly nature. The tool has the ability to analyze keywords and competitors to ensure that the content it generates is optimized for search engines. Additionally, the tool guarantees that the AI-generated text is unique and original, which means you don't have to worry about plagiarism issues.

  • Interested in AI Writer? Check out its website

Now, the question arises: can AI-Writer live up to its promises? The answer is yes. For certain types of writers, the answer is yes, as you’ll read below.

Features

AI-Writer subtopics page example

AI-Writer, like many other AI writing tools, is easily accessible through a web browser and has a user-friendly interface. A free trial, which doesn’t require that you add credit or debit card information, is available to new users. During the trial, you can create a limited number of articles of up to 600 words.

Like similar tools, AI-Writer is available at various price points with limits placed on the less expensive options. On the positive side, those who opt for a membership can create and edit content of up to 5,000 words, regardless of the plan, which is a substantial amount. The entry-level package limits the number of articles you can create per month to 40, while the mid-priced package allows for 120 articles every month. The maximum plan, which is priced accordingly, offers the creation of up to 1,000 articles per month.

Once you’ve registered for a free AI-Writer account, you can create or edit your first project.  The dashboard offers various tools on the left side of the main page. If you're struggling to come up with a topic to write about, you can use the Topic Suggest 2.0 tool. This tool is linked to major search engines like Google and Bing and provides SEO-friendly subtopics based on your input.

If you plan to write about the “iPhone 15,” for example, you can use the Topic Suggest 2.0 tool to generate a list of subtopics related to it. This tool also shows the search volume for each subtopic, which can help you determine how popular your article could be.

AI-Writer example

To begin writing on your chosen subtopic, click “Start Research & Write.” This will take you to AI-Writer’s “Research + Write” tool, where you have two options: Tailor-Made Article or a 1-Click Article. The Tailor-Made Article option is recommended, allowing you to customize the article before the AI tool starts writing. This option will enable you to select a headline and specific keywords, add, edit, and remove subtopics, and determine the ordering and word count.

If you prefer hands-off writing, select the 1-Click Article option for AI-Writer to immediately start writing, making all the critical decisions for you.

After the AI writer generates your article, you can easily make any necessary changes before printing, deleting, or downloading it as a text file. One of the standout features that sets AI-Writer apart from other writing tools is that in view mode, it displays the sources and links to the information used in the article. This not only helps readers to understand and verify the data presented but also strengthens the credibility of the article.

AI-Writer results example

Are you looking for an efficient way to improve an existing article? If so, the AI-Writer's "Reword + Enhance" tool is an excellent option to consider. This tool combines two powerful features into one, making it easy to enhance your article's quality and readability.

To use the "Reword + Enhance" tool, all you need to do is provide the title and copy of the article and activate the "Enhance" option. Once you've done that, AI-Writer will get to work on cleaning up the untidy text and searching for sources you can add as citations, if required. By using the "Enhance" option, you can quickly and easily refine your article's content, making it more informative and engaging for your readers.

If you're looking to rephrase the text, correct spelling, and fix grammatical errors, then the "Reword" option is what you need. Simply activate this option, and AI-Writer will take care of the rest.

AI-Writer example

AI-Writer also has a "Publish to WordPress" "Publish to WordPress" plugin, which allows you to publish your content directly from AI-Writer to your WordPress website with ease. This plugin simplifies your writing process by removing the need to switch back and forth between your writing tool and WordPress editor. Because of how it’s designed, Grammarly’s GrammarlyGO AI writing tool works the same, but without a plugin, making its setup easier to work with WordPress.

Installation, setup, and compatibility

Wehave tested many rtless writing tool that requires no installation or setup. It works smoothly on all platforms and browsers, making it one of the easiest AI writing tools to get started with. However, using AI-Writer on a mobile web browser is not recommended unless you need quick assistance with a short article. There’s not enough real estate on a mobile device such as a smartphone to make AI-Writer worth it. Perhaps offering a native AI-Writer app in the future could change this recommendation.

We have tested many AI writing tools; AI-Writer, at least on a desktop or laptop, is undoubtedly one of the best!

Usability

AI-Writer example

There’s no question that AI-Writer is one of the most accessible word generators on the market. While it may not be as extensive as Anyword or CopyAI, primarily aimed at marketing and sales, it is an excellent tool for freelancers and bloggers, which is its intended audience.

Two important points stand out from a useable perspective, one good and another bad. On the positive side, it’s second to none regarding sourcing. As it rightfully explains on its website, AI-Writer is the only AI content generator that cites sources for “everything it writes.” Perhaps even better, it’s constantly updating the authorities, so when you write an article, you’re guaranteed it’s sourcing the latest information on a subject.

AI-Writer also understands that some articles people intend to write typically don’t require sourcing, such as op-eds. So, it hides sources and links from the main results page.

It is important to note that while AI-Writer has its benefits, there is also a minor drawback that should be considered. Due to the extensive sourcing involved in the AI writing process, the results generated by AI-Writer take a few more seconds to appear compared to other AI writing tools I have used. Although this may not be a significant issue, the noticeable delay should be mentioned. Alternative plans like GrammarlyGO, for example, offer results without hesitation. But again, sourcing is no doubt the issue here.

My advice for the AI-Writer team: It might be wise to allow the writer to turn off the sourcing feature to speed up the editing process.

Beyond this,  from a useability standpoint, I have nothing but praise for this writing solution.

Plans and pricing

AI-Writer prices

AI-Writer provides a simple way to select potential subscribers' most suitable membership levels. There are three plans available, and the only differences among them are the number of articles that can be generated each month and the number of users allowed.

The basic plan costs $29 monthly and is intended for one user who generates up to 40 monthly articles. If you need a 120-word maximum, the standard procedure is a good choice. At $49 per month, you can have up to three users. The power plan costs $375 per month, is designed for up to 10 users, and includes 1,000 articles monthly.

All three plans offer the ability to generate articles of up to 5,000 words, an SEO editor, text rewording, API access, a subtopic discovery tool, and a publish-to-WordPress feature. AI-Writer offers two months of free coverage for yearly plan subscribers, a nice bonus.

Each plan comes with a limited free trial.

Final verdict

AI-Writer has a lot going for it, starting with its incredible ease of use. From the moment you start, the step-by-step process of generating words is simple and slick. And as mentioned above, there's nothing better on the market today regarding sourcing content.

And yet, there's room for improvement. I would like to see app integration such as the one GrammarlyGO offers. For example,  a Microsoft Word plugin for AI-Writer would be a valuable tool, enabling writers to make improvements directly from their word processor without navigating to the website. And yet, if you're a blogger, freelancer, or startup.

However, if you're a marketer or salesperson, there are better tools out there. But, if you are a marketer or salesperson, better tools are available in the market. In its current form, AI-Writer doesn't help create catchy headlines for social media or craft a writing style to appeal to different audiences.

CopyAI review: Is this the AI writing solution for you?

CopyAI is a cloud-based tool that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to help marketers and writers of all levels generate high-quality copy. Whether you're a seasoned marketing professional or just starting out, CopyAI can assist you in crafting compelling content that resonates with your target audience.

With its advanced natural language processing capabilities, CopyAI enables users to create, test, and optimize words for a variety of purposes, including websites, social media, email campaigns, and ads. This makes it an ideal tool for businesses and individuals looking to increase their online presence and improve their marketing efforts.

One of the standout features of CopyAI is its universal accessibility. Like similar tools such as Anyword, CopyAI is available through the web, which makes it easy for users to access and utilize across various platforms and browsers. Once you log in to your CopyAI account, you can start generating high-quality content in just a few seconds, saving you time and effort.

However, as with any tool, CopyAI may not be suitable for everyone. While it excels at generating content quickly and efficiently, it may not be appropriate for certain types of content or users, so it's important to carefully evaluate whether it's the right fit for your needs.

Features

CopyAI templates

CopyAI has become a favorite among users looking to create high-quality content to help them stand out in this crowded digital space. This AI writing tool offers a wide range of options that allow users to get started and take their writing to the next level. These options are easily accessible from the user dashboard, the creative command center where everything begins for CopyAI users.

From this location, you can explore various writing templates, settings, and features designed to help you create a compelling copy in minutes. Whether you want to access your saved projects or try out new options, the dashboard is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to navigate through different features.

The chat feature is the default option that acts as a blank canvas to help generate inspiration. Whether you need to write a blog post about travel or an email to a potential client, CopyAI can help. The brainstorm feature allows you to create copy such as " ten catchy Twitter headlines on holiday shopping," "the best Facebook headlines for marketing professionals,"  and more.

If you are struggling to come up with a topic, don’t worry. CopyAI’s chat function provides prompt templates to give you a head start. These templates cover various topics, including content creation, SEO, email marketing, social media, PR and communication, sales, and strategy. Moreover, you can create custom templates that cater to your specific needs. Each template in the collection provides various options, so whether you need a headline generator, a step-by-step guide, or a product description, CopyAI has you covered. You can even use the “rewrite content” option to enhance your written content.

To fully personalize your experience with CopyAI, you should create one or more brand voices. This process involves providing text that accurately describes you or your company's unique voice. This text should be between 50 and 500 words and can come from various sources such as blog articles, social media posts, website copy, marketing emails, and more. This allows CopyAI to tailor its AI-powered tools to better suit your brand's needs.

CopyAI infobase

CopyAI has recently launched a new feature known as Infobase. Specifically designed to aid sales and marketing professionals, Infobase allows you to store critical information about your organization, including branding instructions, value propositions, and positioning documents. Using the platform's sophisticated AI-powered tools, your team can leverage this data to produce outstanding content.

As CopyAI explains, "All that's left is to sit back and watch the magic happen."

Finally, CopyAI Pro offers an excellent solution for collaborating on projects with your team. With shared workspaces, you can collaborate seamlessly, share your ideas and thoughts, and work together. These workspaces provide an excellent platform where you can easily view a list of all the workspaces you are a part of, create a new workspace, and open existing workspaces to read and edit them.

The shared workspaces featured in CopyAI Pro are designed to help you and your team stay organized and work efficiently. Whether working on a new project or continuing an existing one, you can easily collaborate with your team members in real-time. You can assign tasks to team members, make comments and suggestions, and keep track of all the changes made to the project.

Furthermore, you can create multiple workspaces for different projects, making managing and organizing your work easier. You can even invite clients or stakeholders to join a workspace, allowing them to view and provide feedback on the project.

Installation, setup, and compatibility

As a web-based product, CopyAI can be accessed from any platform and browser, providing a seamless and user-friendly interface that makes content creation easy and effortless. Whether you're at home or on the go, CopyAI's user-friendly interface and intuitive features make it a perfect solution for anyone looking to create high-quality content quickly and easily.

One of the most notable aspects of CopyAI is that it supports over 25 languages, including French, Japanese, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese, and more, making it an ideal solution for users who are not native English speakers but still want to produce content in their preferred language.

In addition to its multi-language support, CopyAI also offers eight preset tones, including Bold, Friendly, Luxury, Relaxed, Professional, Adventurous, Witty, and Persuasive, to help users set the right tone for their writing. These preset tones can be customized to fit users' specific needs, ensuring that the content generated is tailored to their requirements.

Moreover, CopyAI allows users to create custom tones and target audiences to personalize the content generated further. By providing information about their writing style and, if applicable, their company's background and goals, users can ensure that the generated content is aligned with their specific needs.

Usability

CopyAI prompts

CopyAI and Anyword are the most popular AI-powered writing assistants available today. Although both tools have many similarities, some differences set them apart.

As a tech writer, I found CopyAI to be a bit more challenging to use than Anyword. This is not to say that CopyAI is inferior in any way. However, I noticed it was more suited for sales and marketing and less for general writing. But, CopyAI can be a valuable tool for various professionals, including bloggers, content writers, social media managers, and email marketers. With its powerful AI algorithms, CopyAI can help these professionals create engaging and compelling content that resonates with their target audience.

In short, CopyAI's strengths lie in its ability to help businesses and marketers create persuasive copy that drives results. Nonetheless, it can also be helpful for other types of writers who want to streamline their writing process and produce high-quality content more efficiently.  For these folks, however, there might be a longer learning curve, if only because CopyAI's most significant tools cater to a select group of users.

Plans and pricing

CopyAI pricing

CopyAI offers three different subscription levels, each with its unique features and benefits. One of these subscription levels is entirely free, but it has its limitations. The free version allows users to generate up to 2,000 words per month and only includes access to the Chat byCopyAI tool.

For most users, the CopyAI Pro plan is the best option. This plan costs $36 per month when purchased annually or $49 per month when purchased monthly. It can be used by a team of up to five people and includes unlimited brand voices and pre-built prompt templates. The prompt improvement tool and Infobase are also available with this plan. It even supports more than 95 languages.

Large companies can receive discounts when considering a CopyAI enterprise plan. This plan includes unlimited words, unlimited seats, a dedicated account manager, and more.

CopyAI’s pricing is comparable to other similar services. What I find particularly appealing about CopyAI is that it provides a free plan that is available to everyone. This free plan not only serves as an opportunity for beginners to try out the software, but also enables even hobbyist writers to enhance their writing skills for free. Most alternatives offer only temporary trial memberships, which is unfortunate, but CopyAI's gain.

Final verdict

CopyAI is a powerful AI-powered writing assistant that has revolutionized the way content is created. Using the latest AI technology, CopyAI offers a range of features that make creating high-quality content easy and effortless. Whether you need to create marketing copy, articles, or social media posts, CopyAI has got you covered.

One of the best things about CopyAI is that it supports multiple languages, making it an excellent tool for businesses that operate across borders. It also offers preset tones that cater to different writing styles and target audiences. Whether you want to sound professional, friendly, or conversational, CopyAI has a tone that's just right for you. And if you can't find the perfect tone, you can always create a custom one.

Sales and marketing teams stand to benefit the most from CopyAI, as it can help them create compelling and persuasive copy that drives conversions. However, writers of all kinds can also use CopyAI to their advantage. Whether you're a blogger, journalist, or novelist, CopyAI can help you streamline your writing process and produce high-quality content faster.

Of course, like any new tool, there might be a bit of a learning curve when you use CopyAI for the first time. But once you get the hang of it, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it.

Anyword review: Is this the AI writing solution for you?
4:13 pm | September 7, 2023

Author: admin | Category: Computers Gadgets | Tags: | Comments: Off

In its current state, Anyword is a cloud-based writing tool that allows users to create, test, and optimize marketing copy with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). It uses natural language processing to generate and maximize copy for websites, social media, email, and ads. The result is extraordinary— not just for marketers looking to get ahead of the competition.

In this review, you'll learn more about Anyword, including who it's for and what it can do.

Anyword provides its users with access to a range of tools that are easily accessible through a user-friendly web-based interface, which requires minimal learning. Anyword does not generate just one solution when you request one. Instead, it provides you with multiple options, making it easier to compare and contrast the different solutions.

Features

You can get started with Anyword without committing, as new subscribers get a free seven-day trial with some limits. After this, you can subscribe to one of three plans: starter, data-driven teams, and business. The difference between the first two plans is primarily determined by the number of users accessing the service under the same account. The starter plan, for example, is geared towards freelancers and solo marketers. As such, this level of membership only includes one seat. By contrast, the data-driven teams' package consists of three seats.

Meanwhile, an Anyword business plan subscription includes everything from the other two plans but, in this case, offers unlimited seats. The business plan provides brand management tools, enterprise-grade security, and more.

Solutions like Anyword typically keep track of the words or prompts it generate. GrammarlyGO, for example, offers subscribers 1,000 prompts each month. Uniquely, Anyword includes unlimited words with each of its plans. A trial package, unfortunately, has a 2,500-word limit.

This review primarily focuses on the starter and data-driven teams packages.

Anyword list of templates

There's only one way to access Anyword: through the web. Other AI-writing tools, like GrammarlyGO, also work in select writing apps, which makes for a more seamless process. And yet, how Anyword is designed works very nicely.

Upon signing up for Anyword, a personalized dashboard awaits. Starter members have one workspace, while other subscriptions offer more. Your workspace is where you can begin using the service. On the left side of the page, you're offered three options: Editor, Brand Voice, and Copy Intelligence.

Most folks will use the editor more than any other Anyword tool. It's super important and a joy to use. You have two options for getting started with the editor: pick from one of the many templates or start from scratch.

The Anyword templates are arranged into an odd mix of valuable categories. Some of these (SEO, social posts, product postings) are no doubt designed for marketers. Others are for writers of other backgrounds. These templates include general writing, copywriting frameworks, articles/blogs, and more.

The prompt is an attractive template, as is the one for topic ideation. Think of the formal as a digital blank sheet of paper where you can ask Anyword to create content. The latter is a bit more structured and designed for those looking to create copy or video ideas for a blog.

The content improver is the most valuable of all the editor templates. Use it to input your existing content to receive assistance on improving it.

Anyword blog post wizard

The second Anyword option is the blog wizard. You can tell Anyword what type of blog post you want to create through a series of prompts. The first part of the process is telling it what the post should be about and its target audience.

Select the default "broad audience," or get more specific. To do so, you can feed Anyword information as the target audience's age, gender, or pain points or point the service to an existing website that caters to the same audience you hope to attract. To add your target audience, you can also add sample text, which Anyword can use to make recommendations for your blog. You'll also need to add the tone of voice you wish to use and SEO keywords.

Once Anyword has this information, it will suggest a blog title and an outline for your blog post. You can make adjustments at any time.

The final step is telling Anyword how long your blog post should be. Click "Continue to editor," and Anyword creates a blog post based on your inputs. From there, you can edit the blog post, make some recommendations further recommendations, or copy the text to your computer clipboard for use on your blog.

Anyword tone of voice example

Your Brand Voice is an important feature of Anyword. It's where you can provide more information about yourself and your company. You can add a "tone of voice" and identify your target audience. Additionally, you can use the "Messaging Bank" to provide unique information about your company and its products. Starting with a company bio or mission statement is a great way to begin. Anyword will use this information to understand your brand voice better.

The brand voice tools available on Anyword are designed to help you create the perfect brand voice for your business. They allow you to define your brand's personality, tone, and style, which are then used by Anyword to generate text that is consistent with your brand voice. This is particularly useful for businesses that want to maintain a consistent voice across all marketing materials.

Digging deeper and adding custom formulas can further enhance Anyword's capabilities. This will enable Anyword to understand better how you want the copy to be structured. Additionally, you can set brand rules by flagging specific terms that you would like Anyword to replace or avoid using. This way, you can ensure that the copy generated by Anyword adheres to your brand's guidelines and standards.

Anyword is seamlessly integrated into various platforms including HubSpot emails, Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Facebook Pages. This allows you to leverage the service's copy intelligence tools to improve the quality of your future content. By analyzing the performance of your existing content in the blogosphere, you can make informed decisions about optimizing your content for better results.

Installation, setup, and compatibility

Unlike other text generators, Anyword does not need to be installed as it can be accessed directly through its website. Once you log into your account, you can start generating text immediately without any hassle. However, it is important to note that while generating text the first time takes just a few seconds, the initial setup process takes longer.

To fully benefit from Anyword, it is important that you take the time to go through the brand voice tools. These tools help you create multiple target audiences to assist Anyword in better understanding the type of text you hope to generate. By doing so, you can ensure that the content generated by Anyword is tailored to your specific needs.

As a web-based product, Anyword is accessible from any platform and browser. This provides quick access no matter your location. Whether you are at home or on the go, you can easily use Anyword to generate high-quality content that meets your specific needs. With its user-friendly interface and intuitive features, Anyword is the perfect solution for anyone looking to create content quickly and easily.

Usability

If you're looking for a platform that can help you generate and refine your written content, look no further than Anyword. This tool is designed to be user-friendly and easy to use, thanks to the considerable effort invested by its developers. They've taken care to ensure that every task has clear and straightforward steps, and restarting a project is a simple process.

One of the most impressive features of Anyword is its ability to help you refine your generated text until it's just right. As a writer, you know that the slightest tweak can make all the difference in the world. With Anyword, you can keep honing your text until it's perfect.

While having a marketing background might help you get the most out of Anyword, you don't need to be a pro to benefit from this tool. Writers from all walks of life can use the platform to improve their content. The content improver tool, in particular, is worth the price of admission. It can help you take your writing to the next level, regardless of your skill level.

Plans and pricing

Anyword offers three types of subscriptions. The starter package is $39 per month if purchased annually. If you don't want a 12-month commitment, you can subscribe for $49 paid monthly. The starter package includes unlimited words and more than 100 templates. It also has one tone of voice, one custom copyrighting formula, two target audiences, one messaging bank asset, and three brand rules.

The Teams package is $49 per month when purchased annually and $99 per month when purchased monthly; I feel the monthly price is too high. This package offers a plagiarism checker with the blog wizard with three tones of voice, three target audiences, and three messaging bank assets. Additionally, it includes five brand rules and three custom copywriting formulas.

Please note that the limitations mentioned above only apply to how many options you can use at the same time when generating text. For instance, a starter subscription can only use a maximum of two target audiences when trying to create the perfect text. However, you can create as many audiences as you need. The catch is that you can only use two targets simultaneously.

Business plans are available at custom pricing levels. They include the same tools as the other two, plus administrative options.

Final verdict

Anyword is an amazing service that is developed with ease of use in mind. I have really enjoyed testing it and I'm excited to see how it will improve over time. Although I'm not a marketer, I was curious to know if Anyword could be useful for writers from different backgrounds. Fortunately, it didn't disappoint and I found it to be very beneficial.

App integration would be a great addition to Anyword, but unfortunately, it is not currently available. For example, a Microsoft Word plugin for Anyword would be a valuable tool for writers, enabling them to make improvements directly from their word processor without having to navigate to the website. However, the lack of app plugins should not deter you from considering Anyword as a useful tool for both general writers and marketers alike.

GrammarlyGO review: Is this the AI writing solution for you?

Grammarly is a cloud-based AI-powered writing tool that acts as a personal bestie for writers of all levels. It checks for spelling, grammar, punctuation errors, and plagiarism. You can also customize your writing style, tone, and language to make your document more personalized. As a result, you can create clear and error-free documents that effectively communicate your message.

The team responsible for Grammarly has launched a new feature called GrammarlyGO. Currently, in beta, this feature assists with writing more effectively by aiding with composition, ideation, rewrites, and replies. Like Grammarly, this new feature is available on multiple platforms and can be used as a plug-in on different apps and websites.

So, is GrammarlyGO worth all the hype? Well, yes, in many respects. It's not perfect, though. But check out this review and judge for yourself.

Grammarly was introduced in 2009. Initially, Grammarly was designed as an educational tool to help students improve their English skills. However, Grammarly has now expanded its reach and appeals to all types of writers, not just students.

Features

Before getting into GrammarlyGO, it's crucial to understand how and where you can access Grammarly as a user. For newbies, this can sometimes add a level of confusion. You should also know the differences between Grammarly Free and Grammarly Premium.

As mentioned in our Grammarly review, the service offers three main plans: Free, Premium, and Business. The Free plan provides basic writing suggestions, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, conciseness, and tone detection. In contrast, Grammarly Premium users enjoy advanced features like full-sentence rewrites, word choice suggestions, tone adjustments, citations, and plagiarism detection.

Grammarly Business is an upgraded version of Grammarly Premium. It includes all premium features and extras such as style guides, snippets, brand tones, analytics dashboard, account roles and permissions, and SAML single sign-on.

When you use GrammarlyGO, each usage is called a "prompt." The number of prompts available to you depends on the type of plan that you have. If you are using Grammarly Free, you will have access to 100 prompts per month. Grammarly Premium subscribers, on the other hand, receive 1,000 prompts per month. If you have a Grammarly Business plan, each user will also receive 1,000 prompts every month.

The number of prompts you have remaining each month is readily displayed in the Grammarly app, regardless of the platform.

AI features fall into five categories: ideate, compose, reply, rewrite, and personalize. The first allows you to seek advice from Grammarly on potential article ideas. For example, you could ask Grammarly questions like, "Name five great topics about the fall" or "Five ways to motivate employees."

With the compose feature, you can ask Grammarly to draft something from scratch. Maybe it's an announcement that you are getting engaged or a cover letter for a new job. The feature works best with more background information you include. Adding the name of the person you're marrying and when, for example, you make a better wedding announcement, just as indicating the type of job you want, would improve your letter.

A reply is when you want Grammarly to assist you with answering a question. Examples prompts include: "Tell Brent I don't want the new job," or "Congratulate Tom and Becky on their upcoming nuptials."

Perhaps the most substantial GrammarlyGO prompt is when you seek guidance on improving existing text. To get started, highlight the text in a supported browser or app, then click the GrammarlyGO button within Grammarly. In a few seconds, you'll see alternative text. If you don't like it, click "Rephrase" for another option, and so forth.

One of the best reasons for using Grammarly is that you can tell the AI more about the voice you hope to achieve. This process carries over to GrammarlyGO under the final type of prompt, personalize.  Once GrammarlyGO offers a prompt, you can adjust it.  To do so, you can establish a formality (casual, neutral, formal) and up to three types of tone such as "confident," "witty," and "direct." Adding your profession also assists GrammaryGo in establishing your voice for future prompts.

The personalization option doesn't end there. You can also tweak a GrammarlyGO prompt and adjust it using various suggestions. For example, you could ask to make it "more descriptive" or "sound confident." Other options include "Make it persuasive," "Sound casual," "Make it empathetic," and many more.

As you can see, there's a lot GrammarlyGO can do that enhances an already excellent  AI-powered writing tool.

Installation, setup, and compatibility

To start with Grammarly and GrammarlyGO, you must create an account via the official website. Once your Grammarly account is established, you can download and install the product on whatever platform you wish.

While GrammarlyGO is already available across various platforms, it is not currently available everywhere that Grammarly is. You cannot now use GrammarlyGO via a mobile app, for example. However, you can use it on Grammarly for Windows, Grammarly for Mac, Grammarly for Chrome, Grammarly for Edge, and the Grammarly Editor. Supported apps include Gmail, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, LinkedIn, and Medium. Grammarly has promised to make GrammarlyGO available for more apps and websites.

You'll find specific Grammarly downloads from the Grammarly support website. Installation is as simple as downloading the app or plugin and following the on-screen instructions, which includes signing into your account once.

Usability

GrammarlyGO via iA app on Mac

Using GrammarlyGO, and Grammarly in general, is pretty simple. However, for first-time users, there is a modest learning curve. Unlike other applications, Grammarly is primarily designed to work in the background of other websites and apps. As a result, locating it can sometimes be challenging.

You'll notice a Grammarly icon at the lower right inside an app that supports Grammarly. You might also see this icon immediately following any location where you've typed text. Hover over the icon, and you'll see the one for GrammarlyGO.

When I write articles for TechRadar, my go-to writing tool is iA Writer. Once I start writing, the Grammarly and GrammarlyGO icons appear in the window's lower right corner, as you can see above.

You might ask yourself whether you need to install GrammarlyGO on every one of your documents-based apps. That's not necessarily the case on Windows or macOS. For Grammarly and GrammarlyGO to work with emails, messages, documents, and more, you have to install Grammarly for Windows or Grammarly for Mac too. Once you do, you'll see the Grammarly and GrammarlyGO icons within your apps.

Plans and pricing

You can subscribe to Grammarly on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. If you opt for the yearly billing cycle, you can save a lot of money on both the Grammarly Premium and Grammarly Business packages. On the other hand, the monthly subscription options are the most expensive on a per-month basis.

If you choose to use the free version of Grammarly and exceed the limit of 100 GrammarlyGO prompts per month, you can easily upgrade to the paid version. However, if you do not upgrade, you will not be able to use GrammarlyGO until the monthly prompts are automatically refilled. The date of the refill is based on the day GrammarlyGO was first made available in your account.

When billed annually, Grammarly Premium costs $12 per month ($144 total). Grammarly Business is $15 per user annually. Volume discounts are available for 10+ members.

Final verdict

I have a few concerns about Grammarly that bleed into GrammarlyGO. The first has to do with how you access the tools. Grammarly requires an active internet connection, which means there could be times, depending on your situation, when it simply isn't available. That's no fault of Grammarly, but it's worth mentioning.

Although my internet connection is usually reliable, there have been instances where Grammarly has experienced minor disruptions. However, these occurrences are infrequent and brief. During these downtimes, I typically use the opportunity to take a break and grab another cup of coffee or iced tea. Since the beta launch of GrammarlyGO, I have noticed more frequent but brief downtimes. As GrammarlyGO is still in its beta phase, I am not overly concerned about these disruptions. I'm confident the service will improve as the infrastructure is refined.

As a power user of Grammarly, I have noticed a recurring issue affecting the tool's functionality. Occasionally, when using a browser, Grammarly disappears, and I have to uninstall and reinstall the plug-in to get it back online. Although this issue is always inconvenient, it is understandable that several factors could be causing it, such as the browser, third-party apps, or the operating system. It would be great to see this issue resolved, but it may require identifying and fixing the root cause(s) of the problem.

Prompt limit is another aspect to consider. For most people, a monthly limit of 1,000 prompts is sufficient. However, there may be situations where that limit falls short. For instance, individuals who write daily or students who may exceed this limit during certain months of the year.

Overall, however, I have found GrammarlyGO, like Grammarly itself, to be a terrific product worth the admission price. It's a worthy tool that can help you communicate in better ways, regardless of what writing project you're doing.

Google introduces a new AI search tool that shortens lengthy articles into key points

Google just launched a new tool under the Search Labs tab on its Google Search app on Android and iOS. The new tool is part of the Search Generative Experience (SGE) and it's an entirely different product from Google's AI chatbot Bard. This one aims to improve the search results and will soon be made available to Chrome too. The goal of SGE's new feature is to help users engage with lengthy articles more effectively as it summarizes the content into key points. It will be particularly useful to people who are new to a given topic. Google said the feature wouldn't work with articles...
