The global wrist-worn device market (smartwatches and wristbands) reached 139 million shipments during the first three quarters of 2024 as per the latest IDC report. The January – September period brought a 1% decline in shipments, which was due to market saturation across key markets, including the United States and India. MediaTek has announced it will introduce a "new generation of Dimensity chips" in China on December 23 at 3 PM local time. The Taiwanese semiconductor company didn't reveal the name of the chips it will announce the following Monday, but we expect one of them to be the Dimensity 8400 SoC.
