A new rumor today claims Apple will release the iPhone 16 Pro (and presumably the iPhone 16 Pro Max right alongside it) in new Space Black and Rose colorways. These would be offered in addition to white and gray. Thus, the Blue Titanium option that is currently available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be dropped for the next generation. Space Black is said to be close to the iPhone 14 Pro color of the same name, and it is going to replace Black Titanium. What is now called Natural Titanium will be the "gray" hue seen above, and White Titanium is also coming back,...

Yesterday a report from China claimed that Apple decided to use Baidu developed generative AI services in China, but now it looks like someone might have jumped the gun on that. According to a new report today, also from China, the deal isn't done, at least not yet. Talks may be ongoing, or not - this report doesn't go into much more detail than saying there is at this point no deal. If Apple does in the end agree to use Baidu's generative AI services for the Chinese market, this will be baked into iOS 18 scheduled to release to the masses this fall. Apple can't really go with...

Samsung teased the Galaxy Ring back in January at the Unpacked event where it unveiled the Galaxy S24 family, and then sort of announced it at MWC in Barcelona in February, and we've been expecting a proper introduction to finally come in July at the next Unpacked event where the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 should be outed. In the meantime, the Galaxy Ring was revealed to come with Samsung Food support, and now it's appeared in Samsung's stock Battery Widget, as you can see in the screenshot below. Once you add this widget to the home screen of your Samsung smartphone, go to its...

WhatsApp introduced a feature back in August that lets you send photos in higher quality - the full resolution of the image. Users had to pick the good resolution manually and individually for each image, which was less than ideal. An inside look into the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.7.17 revealed all images and videos could be sent in HD automatically with a new Media Upload Quality toggle in the Storage and data menu. When you select the “Standard quality,” the recipient will get the media in a compressed file for faster delivery while keeping the quality lower. HD quality is...

11:21 pm | March 26, 2024

A couple of weeks ago we heard a rumor that Sony will drop the 4K display from the next Xperia 1 model – this would happen as the aspect ratio changes from 21:9 to 19.5:9 (which suggests that the vertical resolution will no longer be 3,840px). This would also entail a change in the phone’s dimensions and a new leak reveals the new values. The Sony Xperia 1 VI will allegedly measure 162 x 74.4 x 8.45mm - that is 3mm shorter and 3mm (and a bit) wider than the Xperia 1 V, which is 165 x 71 x 8.3mm. The renders from last time show that Sony will stick with its traditional design with a top and...

There is a lot to see on the outside of the Samsung Galaxy A55 – things like the Gorilla Glass Victus+ and the aluminum frame (with fancy grooved sides). But have you wondered what’s inside the A55? The teardown video from PBKreviews will answer that question. The phone comes apart easily once you remove the back panel – there are just Phillips screws holding things together. And the battery has a pull tab to make removing it much easier. Have a look: Overall, the Galaxy A55 earned a high 8.5/10 on the repairability score. The phone got knocked half a point in three categories. The...

This year, Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), is taking place from June 10 to June 14. On the first day of WWDC, Apple traditionally announces new versions of its operating systems. This year we're expecting the unveiling of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and also new iterations of watchOS, tvOS, macOS, and visionOS. Apple will hold the WWDC online like in past years, but developers and students will be able to celebrate in person at a special event at Apple Park on June 10, watching the keynote, meeting with Apple team members, and taking part in special activities. There will be...

Leaked iPhone 16 Pro case shows rumored Capture Button

The iPhone 16 Pro could indeed sport a brand-spanking-new Capture Button. Granted, a leaked case (and clearly not an Apple-made one) isn't the best evidence, but the source has a reasonable track record when it comes to Apple's doings - Sonny Dickson. The case shows a clear cutout on the right side, just under the power button. Interestingly, the power button has a rubber cover, while the expected Capture Button has a cutout - that could be because of the case design, or it could be related to the button itself, if we were to pile speculation on speculation. Apple iPhone 16 Pro...
