Apple Pay will finally become available in Samsung's home country of South Korea "in the coming months", in partnership with Hyundai Card, the credit card service unit of Hyundai Motor Group. The launch of Apple Pay will be interesting to follow, as it will go head to head with Samsung Pay in the latter's home market. Understandably, so far Samsung Pay has dominated the mobile payments space in South Korea, with a market share of around 80%. Today we've finally received official confirmation from OnePlus that the OnePlus 11 is rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance in all markets in which it's being offered. According to the definitions in the IP code, that means the phone is "dust tight", with complete protection against dust particles entering. It's also resistant to water splashes from any direction. That, however, is less water resistance than a lot of its competitors offer - it's not uncommon to see phones being protected from immersion in water, and not just splashing. Even at lower price points than the OnePlus 11's,...

Say hello to the vivo X90 Pro - one of two 1-inch type cameraphones in vivo's lineup. Sadly the even more stacked X90 Pro+ is staying in China for now, but the X90 Pro seems fit to defend the company's honor well enough. It comes in an excellent retail package, stuffed with a case, a cable, and a whopping 120W charger. The vivo X90 Pro is a tale of two opposing perspectives. On the one hand, it's an excellent package with a 6.78-inch 1260x2800px 120Hz AMOLED display, a 4nm Dimensity 9200 chipset with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 4,870mAh battery that goes to 50% in just 8...

UK regulator: Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision will hurt gamers

Microsoft's acquisition of Activision has been a hot topic for the last year or so, but regulatory hurdles are still preventing the two companies from finalizing the deal worth $68.7 billion, which is the biggest takeover in tech history. The latest regulatory body to express its concerns is the British Competition and Markets Authority. Analysts believe that Microsoft's acquisition will hurt gamers in the long run because titles such as Call of Duty may become exclusive to Microsoft's Xbox console. This would lead to higher prices, reduced range, market dominance, lower quality and worse...

Back in October of 2021, Ken Pilonel made headlines by replacing the Lighting port on an iPhone X with a USB-C connector. Now the engineer has now stepped up to an even more complex mod by adding a functional USB-C port to a pair of first-gen AirPods Pro. The process involved developing and printing a new circuit board with the USB-C connector and 3D printing a new AirPods case to fit the custom PCB. The project involved plenty instances of trial and error, a whole new circuit board design and 3D printing. The necessary schematics are posted on GitHub so people with the right...
